I am the same. The first time I rode FoP in 2017, I didn’t like the drop feeling, but I was willing to give it another try to see if it was really a “no more” or if I liked it better now that I knew what it was like. We went back in 2023, and that time riding it felt just more like a motorcycle to me, and instead of a drop feeling, it was just like it was time to rev the engine and go fast. 
I don’t know why my brain registered it like that, but it was much better! Rode again in 2024, and it was kind of a mix between the two. I felt the drops a bit more again, but not near as badly as the first time.

It’s wild how reasonable humans can be diametrically opposite when it comes to this stuff!
