Please recommend a service. I’ve used GardenGrocer before, but they seem to missing some items I’d like to buy. Not sure if InstaCart works at Disney. We are staying at AKL-Kidani next week.
Thanks in advance,
Rod
Instacart works just fine!
We use Water Butlers, and have been very happy.
We use either Target ( Shipt ) or Insta-cart depending on what we need to order.
We lean more towards Target- mostly because someone always forgets socks bath suit ect…
We use Kroger delivery.
Can I ask if anyone just grabs some things from the grocery section at the resort? I see the prices aren’t bad, plus they are smaller sizes that are better for a limited stay.
We do!
We go to Publix for a big shop, but we do a DVC order for groceries to our room for the first couple of days - milk, bread, eggs, bacon etc. And often top up with everyday stuff from the resort.
Last time I tried to do an Instacart order. It wouldn’t let it go through without a US mobile number. Even though it claimed it would, and even the girl I called said it “should”. But nope. I ended up in tears, DH went in an Uber to Publix and did a shop.
So I’ just won’t bother with an online shop again. Especially with the hassle of ID for alcohol.
Thank you for sharing! We have found the added charges for Instacart too much. We’ll have a car for the first two days and will go to Publix for somethings.
We were just at AKL for 2 nights and got upgraded to a 1-bedroom unexpectedly! So suddenly we had a full kitchen and literally no food. So I did a quick run to the DVC shop for breakfast food. It was reasonable enough without me taking the time/effort for a tiny grocery order.
A dozen eggs was only $5.49 which actually felt like a bargain! Bacon, however, was $14.99 (!) so we didn’t get that lol. We got deli ham for $8.99 instead and a loaf of bread for $5.99. When a kids QS breakfast is $9.99 I think we did great for 4 people!
I got butter, honey, jam, salt and pepper from the quick service for free.
Great to hear there is still some pixie dusting going on.
They even nailed my room request! And it was ready at 10am! My kids were telling people we won the lottery ![]()
what a GREAT idea ![]()
Hooray!!! That happened to us once… a studio to a 1BV… so nice
But those prices are sooooo much higher than here in the EU…., but better than what my kids are reporting in the states; I’m a bit nervous.
I mean, they are expensive hotel shop prices even in the US! But for the small amount I needed I was willing to pay the upcharge.
I agree w/ you… and the egg prices were less than a typical US grocery ![]()
I was exploring my benefit at SoG and found some info on grocery items there. It’s another option for those that have a DoD card: Shades of Green’s AAFES General Store Prices - Military Disney Tips
Has anyone had groceries delivered to Boulder Ridge? Is it different from other resorts? The DVC website includes this note that we’ve never noticed before:
Doing some searching, I’ve seen that this notice is actually general to all DVC, but I’ve never had problems having groceries delivered to my resort on the day of check-in and stored for the day until we arrive.
Is this meaning just don’t have deliveries made before your check-in day? Or does it really mean until you check in?
There isn’t a true lobby at BRV. Perhaps it reflects that any groceries would be stored at WL?
We got groceries delivered in June and it wasn’t different from anywhere else we’ve had them delivered. I think they were technically delivered after we arrived (I can’t remember for sure), but they accepted the delivery and we had them brought to our room.
A different time we just got water delivered and that was definitely before we arrived because we didn’t get there until midnight. It was just held in the main WL lobby.
Thanks! This is super helpful to have first-hand experience.
I thought this at first, too, but then I saw the exact same verbiage on the general DVC page. In any case, it looks like my question is answered! I won’t sweat it.
Well that is weird! ![]()
