Ha ha, thanks. We screamed so loudly. People must have thought, “what, is this TOT?”

PS: fixed *we were attacked

We need to go to sleep now, but I promise to finish this review (there will be a part II, and maybe III). It was a great day!

:warning: Review of our day @ AK (7/10) (part II)

We skipped breakfast in the morning to focus on riding as many rides as possible from 8-10am.

After that, instead of going back to the hotel, we decided to take our mid-day break in the park. We planned to do the safari and Naavi later in the day.

:trophy: Satu’li canteen and Pongu Pongu:

The family was not happy that we had to walk from Asia all the way to Pandora - again- and “why can’t we just eat right there?” [points to a popcorn stand]:grimacing:

I realized that I had forgotten to place my MO ahead of time, but there was a “Now” pick up window available, thankfully. DH was also able to order food without MO. Seems like we are back to pre-COVID times in the parks now

We loved the night blossom, French toast sticks at and cheeseburger pods. Pongu lumpia, not so much, it was just ok

:trophy: Nomad Lounge

We got to the door about 5 min to opening time and there was a short line. I had tried to join the walk up list, but it didn’t work. There was a 20min wait for a table right at 11.
————————

As we waited for our table in the shade across from Tiffins, DD8 and DD11 had some sort of argument. DD8 was upset and crossed to Tiffins to hide from her sister. We could still see her, thanks to her Minnie ears. I would call that a “hidden Minnie” :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

:trophy: 1:30pm: Wildlife train and Rafiki’s planet

We left Nomad lounge and took the pathway from Pandora to Africa. I feel that at AK is much easier to find areas that are shaded and not packed at mid-day, making this the best park to go to when is hot and crowded (I think).

We enjoyed the train ride. Although it was very hot, our cooling towels and misty fans helped.

Doing Rafiki’s planet mid-day was another great way to hide from the crowds.

DD8 loves animals and really enjoyed the petting zoo.

We also did the “Animation Experience”, yet another opportunity to slow down in the air conditioning.

We were back to Asia at 3 pm for our ADR at Yak and Yeti.

(To be continued…)

Good morning, liners!!
Looks like it will be hot with <20% chance of rain all day!

Time to wake up the kids for our day at MK. Is it “mean” to play this just to set the tone for the day?

Woohoo! I will always cheer on people doing the Animation Experience! What character did you guys draw?

No! The song is great, but just don’t play it on loop.

DD8 first rode it at 5 and hated it. She skipped it when she was 6 because she remembered how terrible it was. She rode it last month at 8 and loved it. She still didn’t like the preshow but she was determined to ride it. She ended up riding twice.

Thanks for sharing. The preshow seems to be the problem…

For sure. We had extensive conversations about how the scan is not real ahead of time. Fortunately for us, they didn’t run that portion of the preshow so I think it helped her get to the actual ride. Now that she likes the ride itself I don’t think she will pay too much attention to the preshow next trip.

All those empty chairs at Animation Experience! :scream: I wish it had been like that when we went. (We missed out because the house was packed. Probably Covid capacity restrictions made the difference.)

That was 10 min before it started. It filled to capacity

Love the hidden Minnie! Also you are the first person I have ever heard say that AK is the best park on a hot day :joy:

That came out so great!

DD7 wants to ride FOP when we go in 2 weeks. I showed her some YouTube videos to prep her for the experience and the preshow on YouTube scared her…

I am terrified my 6 yr old will start the ride and then freak out ruining for other people :grimacing::grimacing: but I don’t want to discourage or scare her off because everyone else in our party is going and she wants to try….eek
