You don’t get to see the whole queue, but I’m glad we went in to see the Ministry. Even the bit they let you experience is impressive. My 10yo liked traveling by floo powder.
Sorry to come back to your post. Did you see Epic tickets and express when looking at a 2026 package? Or somewhere else on the site?
I know I should have paid attention to these details but I did not think I would have a chance to get to Epic for a long time. Yesterday I grabbed alights to an April 2026 weekend (school vacation week for daughter in law and I had to grab the flights early.
2026 Epic single day Epic tickets are not available? The AP deal appears to end at the end of December. I can grab an AP discount room now to lock in a lower rate and worry about tickets later?
My notes say I want Stella Nova to walk to Epic?
I was looking at November 2025 I believe. Although now I am potentially interested in the same week as you! Let me look again. I was not looking at packages.
Unrelated, where did you get cheap flights??
I am flying out Friday night on points and returning Monday morning (11am). I grabbed the $224 JetBlue flights for Monday. Not a great price but I expect it will go higher (I saw much higher).
The best deal I have seen is the US version pf Attraction Tickets has a four parks ticket for around $550. I don’t know how many days you are going or if you have an AP to cover the other parks.
Any reason I shouldn’t book a room from the AP site if I don’t have an AP?
I have never been asked but if you are worried I think a 2 park seasonal pass would work (for 1).
I have thought about that- getting something really cheap, or even just one for me that covers our stay. The AP rates for next May are really good. I have no philisophical issue with using an AP rate without an AP but I can be a nervous rule follower.
I hear this “I’ve never been asked” all the time, but I wonder if they don’t ask because they can see in your records that you have an AP, so they don’t need to ask…?
I don’t think that’s what people mean because in some cases people have admitted they didn’t have an AP.
FWIW, I’ve never been asked either but I did have an AP.
Definitely book it and if nothing else, you can get your AP closer to the date. You don’t need it to book, even by the letter of the law.
Oh, you mean some people have booked at the AP rate without having an AP, and have reported that they were not asked to produce an AP when checking in?
I wasn’t sure if all the “never been asked” reports were from people who DO have APs.
I’m pretty sure there have been cases of that reported. I’ve never heard of anyone having the rate retracted either. Also I don’t think their system is smart enough to link up with your ticket, at least the way it is currently configured.
For one of our stays we weren’t asked, but they did later add a charge for the difference. I had to fight it. I did have an AP. I think that was during the lock-down time period and I was able to use the app to check-in. I don’t think we ever talked to anyone at the hotel.
Good data point! All the info I had seen was more recent than that, so maybe something has changed. If @darkmite2 ever comes back around maybe he will share more. ![]()
Similarly, I stayed at Cabana Bay twice this past spring using the FL resident rate (which I think is pretty similar to the AP rate) when traveling with my kids who are both in college (Universal accepts FL college ID’s as proof of residency). We were never asked for any kind of proof when checking in, even though the address on my account and credit card is definitely not a FL address. Actually, the first time I totally forgot that we could possibly be asked to provide proof of residency and I did check in by myself while DS stayed in the car.
