Hi! I was on TP for our Disney trip a few years ago (thanks so much!) and am back for a UOR trip in April. Apologies if this is not the right place to ask this. I waited to go to UOR for Epic to open, but now the math on things like where to stay and the attendant Express Pass questions have gotten more complicated. Our family of 3 would probably do 2 days in Epic and a day each in the other dry lands. I’m bummed that there is no stay that would include an Express Pass in Epic but now I’m wondering if we should split our stay between something like Stella Nova for the Epic days (with added on Express Passes) and at a Premier with UEP as part of it for the other days? Does that seem crazy?

Not crazy at all! I do things like this all the time. I think some people here that say they have little kids say a split stay is hard cuz of all the kid gear but for me I just pack in sections so I know what comes out of suitcase at which hotel. Easy peezy especially if on hotel switch day you’re gonna be in a park. I’d prolly start with the old parks since you get that express by checking in. Then on switch day go to the second old park. I believe universal does bag transfers for you too. So then you just take the bus from Citywalk to your epic hotel for those two days at the end of your second old park day and your bags are waiting for you at new hotel.
I will add that I priced out doing something like this but I need two rooms or a suite cuz my kids won’t sleep in the same room as hubby(he’s a loud sleeper so keeps them awake, not cuz he’s mean or anything lol) so for us it was cheaper to just stay in Epic side and buy express pass for old parks but we’re also only doing one day in the old parks combined. So I’d price it out paying for express too but if you’re four in a room it’s prolly cheaper to split.

It’s kind of more like “if I’m staying there at all (unlikely), I’m staying there to be able to walk for relatively cheap.” Even cheap, TL is not really something I would consider.

I definitely calculated the costs of doing this for my May 2026 trip. I had insomnia one night and priced out every version of a trip, then presented it to the family. Our focus is on Epic and we like water parks so they chose Cabana Bay, adding VB to our ticket, with two days of Epic express pass.

I wouldn’t dream of doing it any other way! With an ECV and a stroller, we prefer being able to walk as much as possible. Next trip we will probably do 2 - 3 nights at Helios Grand, then 2 - 3 nights at Portofino or Hard Rock. Or maybe the other way around.

It’s usually cheaper to do it this way if you’re gonna buy tickets from a third party but you could always put tickets on your first stay for the number of park days you need fully and do room only for the 2nd half. When I bought Epic tickets they didn’t come as part of a 3/4 parks ticket so you could always put those on your Epic stay and your 2 park ticket on your older hotel stay too. But there might be 4 park tickets now? I got my Epic the day they were release and they just had single day.
*You can play with it (I do it in two different browsers like firefox and edge but also if you use icognito mode in two browsers of the same type, and play around and see what adds up to be the cheapest)

I was literally just pricing out these hotels. Where can you walk to from Stella Nova? The Terra Luna theming appealed to me a little bit more so I picked that one!

Not sure if this news but I was pricing out hotels/tickets and I did not pull the trigger but it looked like it was going to sell me a single-day Epic Express pass. The days that are available are days that I have a tentative hotel stay.
