This was my first thought. My second thought was that everyone thought Epic was going to be packed so avoided going opening day. My third thought? … everyone decided like me to pick a random fall weekday for Epic (in order to reduce the risk of high crowds) and it will be packed on every random weekday in the fall.
I wonder if it’s just for today for good press and tomorrow will be bananas like everyone expected.
Umm just not my quiet weekday in the fall please.
Isn’t this what happened when SWGE opened. Nobody went because they wanted to avoid opening day crowds?
It seems the kept capacity reduced to avoid any “Every line was 3+ hours”…
Plus, most schools don’t get out until today. We all live in a theme park bubble and would all pack this place if we could go on opening day.
“Normal” people will start to show up after next week!
There’s a reason almost every AP is typically blocked out in July!
APs couldn’t buy tickets in July?
I was implying that July is typically a very busy travel month.

Yes, I was thinking about that parallel too. Pundits were saying SWGE was a failure at Disneyland because they had done so much work to expand the park and its capacity and they had a relatively slow summer. I’m still a little baffled by what happened, but the simplest explanation is that it was so hyped up, people were afraid of the crowds and stayed away.
Ok! My power pass (2 park) is not blocked during the summer so I was wondering if it was an Epic thing.
Well I also think at WDW people didn’t want to go because RotR wasn’t open and people wanted to wait for the whole shebang. But I do think the examples are parallel.
And neither is BAM. Well, it’s a crap shoot. Some people are probably waiting until the park is functioning normally.
Haha fair point.
Yeah, all the preview problems and closures probably definately led to this. Good to see that when the rest of the park is working properly, the capacity appears to be much better than feared. I bet both shows running really helps. Note - I don’t have any numbers to back that up!
100% for me, why I’m going in Dec. That plus weather.
What would the price difference between Terra Luna and Stella Nova have to be for you to pick TL over SN, despite the walk to the park being much longer and less straightforward?
I know I’ve been absent more often than I’ve wanted to recently but is there a bg1 for universal now? Or have I just not been aware of it? Universals app was the worst and this would have been so great on our epic preview trip we snuck away to!
I’ve got this: https://joelface.com/uo/
It’s a work in progress. I want to add dining info and other stuff.
Very cool! Thanks!
Given how cheap they are to begin with I would probably always spring for SN. But hypothetically speaking I guess like $100 cheaper?
