Epic Universe News & Planning Thread

That’s what we are all hoping for! The place is packed as it is at full price. A lot of people, including me, are dying to know when it will be part of the Annual Passes.

IMHO - We are probably going to only have park-to-park tickets that include Epic as our best offer for the foreseeable future. There are 3 / 6 / 7 day packages that include Epic as of now.

There is a special for Annual Passes that adds 3 bonus months to any purchase. That makes me think that there aren’t going to be any deals on Epic Universe or have it on an AP until 2027-2028. (Maybe when WDW opens their new attractions in those years)

This is what I am doing next month. I am staying a few nights at Stella Nova and then moving to Hard Rock for a night. I will be back in October for HHN so this combo makes sense for me this trip.

@Jeff_AZ, did you write a trip report for experience doing this?

No actually this was what I settled on for an upcoming trip in June!

We have a similar situation and decided the following:

Stay 3 nights at Helios, buy 5 day 3 park ticket plus 2 day Express Passes for Epic (all this underca vacation package) then move to Portofino for 2 nights.

Explore Epic on arrival day, Use Epic Early Entry and Express Passes on days 2-3, use EE on day 4 at Epic, check in to Portofino mid morning, do IOA and US remaining day 4 and day 5.

We decided on this because as we live in Greece, I need to be able to cancel everything if needed. So I needed the tickets and Epic Express Passes to be a part of a vacation package. But we also wanted the unlimited Universal Express from Portofino.

We also have been multiple times to the older parks. This is first at Epic and possibly last time at Universal Florida in general.

This is exactly what I decided to do as well. I was able to get a five day express pass that includes Epic (one ride per day) for $313/person for our November trip. We can stay at the less expensive hotels (deluxe rates are so outrageous now!) and end every night in Epic with express if we so choose. There’s only two of us so this did end up being the cheapest option by far.

When I read the description of this 3 day express pass on the UOR website, it isn’t clear to me whether the guest gets (A) 1 express for each attraction each day or (B) 1 express for each attraction at any time over the 3 day period. Have we had confirmation from a Liner that it is (A) and not (B)?

@Wahoohokie went recently and can confirm one way or the other. But I am quite sure it is A. Let me see if I can find the verbiage.

Here are the exact terms and conditions.

Here is the info page at Undercover Tourist.

https://www.undercovertourist.com/blog/universal-express-pass/

Universal Express Passes are available for one park per day or both parks per day.

Select multi-day Express Passes can be used multiple days at the same theme parks — so if you were to buy a 3-Day Universal Express Pass (with Epic Universe), you could divvy up your three days any way you’d like: all three Express days at Epic Universe, 2 days at Epic Universe and 1 at Islands of Adventure, etc. If you have at least one full day at each of the theme parks, and having Express Unlimited isn’t a must for you, this is the Express option we recommend to maximize your time. (Plus, with one day at each of the theme parks, you’d get to ride the Hogwarts Express each way!). Likewise, if you’re visiting Epic Universe for multiple days and want to add on Express Pass for multiple days at Epic, this is the way to do it (and you can save up to $35 per ticket when you buy through Undercover Tourist!).

This. You can ride all express rides in the 3 parks every day.

You are correct.

I’ve seen a few places suggest that you can do both the Battle at the Ministry and Mine-Cart Madness during early access. Is this still true? For an early entrance at the general entrance, touringplans says I will arrive at 8:04 at the Ministry, wait 15 minutes, and then arrive at Mine-Cart at 8:38 and wait 82 minutes… That seems like a surprisingly long wait before general admissions has even opened! What have things been like recently?

There was recently a change to early opening procedure and I’m not sure how it impacts what you read. See today’s blog post from TP below:

This is really interesting and I’m glad they are doing it this way. It seems more fair to on-site guests. It seems to make no sense to have distinct lines that merge into one line though. It also doesn’t mention Berk or Darkmoor.

I thought the post was a little unclear. It looks like most of the park is open during EPA now? No mention of a strategy or plan for EPA.

If you are in general admission you go to a holding area depending on destination, but then merged into one big queue? The photo inferred it’s best to go to Monsters Unchained, but I didn’t see any advice on where to go.

Did I miss something or not understand?

I am unclear on this, too. If non-resort guests are kept to the right, then who are they merging with later on?

I will have early park entry, and I’m not sure where to go first. I will have 3 park one time use per day express pass for two of my four days, so I’m considering rope dropping meeting Toothless if that is still an early entry option in a few weeks. The meet and greet doesn’t take Express.

I read it but I’m honestly not sure how it changes things, maybe because I’m not so familiar with how things normally work and I’ve never done early access before. I think maybe the discussion about general admissions is just confusing me, but that this doesn’t matter for early access?

The February 17th EPA article about the changes suggests HP first and the Mine-Cart second during the new EPA, but it’s unclear if this is tested and how Stardust being closed changes things.

The touring plan app itself suggests that the above plan will involve waiting 80 minutes in the Mine-Cart queue, which I’m just not going to do at 8:30 in the morning. But maybe the touring plan algorithm for EPA is not up to date yet?

Planning very last minute April trip and trying to catch up on epic details fast. I want to buy my Epic Express passes before they sell out. Will probably buy multi-day passes for Universal and either single day Epic express or multi-day express depending on costs/availability. Will stay at Portofino so have express for other parks. Thank you for any advice!

  1. What have been the least crowded days of the week for Epic?

  2. Are 2 Epic days enough?

  3. Is there any unlimited express for Epic that I just haven’t found?

  4. I usually will get one family member a season pass for hotel and park discounts, but then I’d need to get single day Epic tickets after I activate? Is the season pass +single days even an option or will all the Epic days be sold out by the time I activate my pass?

  5. Where can I find what else is going on a particular day (like cheer competitions). I think I used to look at yourfirsvisit.net, but I can’t find the info there. For example, wondering why 4/16 is higher on the TP crowd calendar.

My understanding is that the only way currently to get an unlimited Epic express is to book a private VIP tour.

I think so, especially with Express. With Express, we did most of Epic in 9 hours at the park.

When I researched this question in late fall 2025, Saturdays seemed to be least crowded, but it is possible that has changed in 2026.
