Huh. Never thought of it. I sit on my feet too. I’m not comfortable with them down. I didn’t attribute this to my height. Just thought it was something left over from the teen years, lol. You might be on to something.

For folks who’ve been to Epic:
Is there time to get in line for ‘one more ride’ after the Cosmos fountain show, or would you have to miss the show to get in a line to be sure to avoid disappointment at park closing?

My wife and I are approaching our trip in February where we planned to do two days in Epic with the family…and now find ourselves kind of dreading it. We have been watching crazy wait times, and seeing reports about how poorly Universal designed many of the rides to have such low capacity that there is no way there won’t be short waits. And if it rains hard … Exactly 4 rides available.
Universal has been been letting about 4-8 times more people in than the capacity really can handle.
And, truth is, we are realizing there are four rides we care to ride, and possibly zero rides that our grandkids will be able to ride!!!
Sigh.

Why not switch to 1 day in Epic? Go in with low expectations, explore the new park and try a few rides.

If it were just us, we would. Or we wouldn’t go at all. But the 28, 27, 26, 23, and 15 year olds would protest. We will see.

Just a suggestion … maybe sent out a family email saying that you have been following other people’s trips and based on reports of lines, weather impacts and number of attractions that appeal to the younger generation, you think it would be best to spend 1 day to Epic and the second day at a different park?
You know your family best, but you also likely know the parks best out of anyone in your family.

What part of February will you be visiting?
Have you checked predicted crowd levels?
How many days total at the Universal parks?
February is the dry season, it’s rare to get a rainy day.

Second week.
There is no historical data to go by, but in general February can be a bit all over the place. But not sure it matters. Epic wait times are mostly insane. Even when all the other parks are low crowds.
The plan is 2 days in Epic, and one day at USF/IOA, and then 2 days at Disney.
Same is true of January, but in January this year, it rained almost non-stop in 6 of the days we were there. And they are predicting higher levels of rain in Florida this winter.
Really trying to adjust our thinking. But we have gone from super excited about Epic to now kind of dreading it.

I know, I guess TP needs a year of data before measuring past crowd levels. I agree, hopefully it’s more moderate than heavy.
If possible, do your first day at EU, second day at the north campus, then decide where to go on the third day. Possible split day?

We are in the same boat. We decided to go to Disney on our EPIC day instead and plan for a USH trip in the not so distant future. But, with those ages, teens and twenties, I could still see going. They will tolerate the lines better than my family could. If we were still going to go, I planned on really just taking in the park. There will be some fun for the grandkids with the playgrounds and Toothless show, just seeing things in Nintendo and Burk. I decided that our youngest might be frightened by the Cirque show after I previewed that one online. But we have a sensitive group so your grands might love it. Maybe consider power up bands for enjoying Nintendo more? I truly think we could have made it work without much rides, just CC, MarioKart, and Yoshi. What had me very concerned were waits for food. Because…well..at least I need to get the food.

Maybe try to focus on the little one and having more down time at the pool with the grandbaby? Is this his first trip to theme parks? The lines for the less intense rides should be shorter.
Another suggestion- and hear me out- y’all head on to Disney with Dan in tow. The younger bunch do the 2 days at Universal and y’all stay back with the grandbaby. No park time if your comfortable with it. Park time is the parents are. Let them run around the shadow world. They can Uber back to the house at night. Grandbaby time is always a blessing if you can get it.
That’s a week before the Mardi Gras crowds. They will pick up at the end of the second week. But earlier on and I don’t thing the crowds will be much. That’s the last time we did Universal with the kids (several years back).

If it’s any consolation- took my twenty somethings on a Saturday in mid- August with with a crowd level estimated at 7….we rope dropped straight to donkey Kong encountered no major breakdowns, no overly long lines, and had an amazing time. Though we didn’t fully accomplish everything.
Gotta say that the park in general tugs at the heartstrings for that age-range.
I know my thoughts on Epic go against most on this but I do think minimum 2 days is the way too go, far less stressful- while the kids raced through every ride they didn’t have time to enjoy a lot of the non headliner stuff. There is so much beautiful detail.
Also much of the park is again IMO is designed to be seen after dark, when we head down in December I am actually aiming for minimum of 2 Epic evenings. Stunning just absolutely stunning lit up at night.

Right now, we are thinking to not go into Epic until after noon (eat lunch then go in) and stay to closing both days.

Oh, in that case sounds like a good plan. I thought you meant two full days.

That’s the plan so far for December-
Thursday night check in than Epic till close next day doing holiday tour at io than over to epic after dinner.

We’re going to go to HHN next Friday!
We have 3 days at Uni, one park-to-park and one Epic. My originally planned Epic day is the date I purchased the tickets for HHN.
Would it be better for me to shuffle things around, make that a more USF day, keep us there all day into the night, and then make Epic on the following Monday?

@FelisLachesis thats exactly what I would do (usf for HHN day then full day at epic). Plus you can “stay and scream” before HHN and get into some houses earlier. I did HHN on Sat, starting in the back, and had a great time.
And guys, epic is awesome. I did two days there earlier in the summer and loved it. I can’t wait to get back. Don’t stress!
