Is it your experience that the security check in the walking path (close to IOA) opens exactly 60 minutes before EPA?
I take half of a less drowsy before riding, and a full regular Dramamine at bedtime the night before.
Non drowsy is just ginger. Less drowsy is Meclizine. I take a half of a Meclizine. It works well enough for me. A full pill will make me noticeably drowsy still, but not as much as a regular Dramamine which knocks me out! The half pill, if we are active I would never notice I was taking it. A full pill, I will notice it.
It’s been a few years but we got there an hour early and I mean at the gates to IOA an hour early and on that day were 2nd in line for one of the ticket scanner lines. The other time we got there 45 minutes early and we had to wait 45 minutes to ride Hagrids by the time we got thru. So we must have got thru security before an hour early. But again this was when masks were required so things can change as that could have been 2020
I have some and didn’t even think to look at the ingredients.
Good advice. I might make DH test half a pill the next time we go somewhere that includes activity. He took a less drowsy on the cruise ship recently but it wasn’t too long before bed so I don’t know if it really effected him that way.
What is the difference between that and Meclizine?
This one is more drowsy? ![]()
But joking aside, regular Dramamine (Dimenhydrinate) is what I posted. Meclizine is their “Less Drowsy” formula. That’s how the “brand names” are marketed. As for effectiveness, it looks like the regular is more intense, but shorter lasting. The less drowsy is maybe a little less effective, but can last up to 24 hours.
Meclizine is the generic name. Like Acetaminophen versus Tylenol. Meclizine also goes by Less Drowsy Dramamine, and Bonine.
and is what dr’s prescribe for vertigo, ask me how I know? ![]()
I personally prefer standard dramamine for motion sickness. Just don’t drink alcohol while on it, you’ll get drunk on one beer.
Same. I don’t use the “less drowsy” stuff as it doesn’t work as well. I do take a couple of regular dramamine sometimes right before bed to help pass out. It gets me feeling drunk even without the alcohol ![]()
Edit: don’t get me started on phenylephrine
I take them for nausea too. It works way better for regular upset stomach than things like Pepto and Emerol.
I usually take it for vertigo. After enough of the room spinning, I feel like I’m going to ![]()
you know what, I don’t think I’ve ever bought regular, stronger dramamine before. I’ve bought the store brand Meclizine. DH has just been having issues the past 4 or 5 years. I didn’t even know there was a formula difference!
Yes. I have bought that. And it made DH tired so next purchase was the less drowzy. I didn’t realize they the same. So half a pill it is then.
I have zofran. Doesn’t work for DH though for this type of thing.
I’m definitely short! I got over my issues about it like 20 years ago! ![]()

We’re good enough friends that you can make all the jokes at my expense about it & I’d laugh! I don’t let complete strangers do it though!! ![]()
I like the term ‘Short King’ these days!! ![]()

@drvillarejos - I’m a couple inches shorter than you. My lower body is soooo small. ![]()
My head tends to sit right in between any over the shoulder harness. I get knocked side to side so bad, like a ping pong ball, that I’ve gotten horrible migranes after some coasters
I have zofran right now too cuz of the GLP-1s so they wrote me some and it does help but when I dont have that dramamine works way better than anything else over the counter for nausea for me.
It’s wonderful to own and love the things about us that make us different!
It took me a few decades to accept I have larger thighs than 95% of women. I remember beginning to notice that in 4th/5th grade and it really bothered me for a couple of decades cuz people would even comment on that as a kid. Now I do not care. But the problem is other things keep changing. We finally to learn to accept ourselves for who we are and then we’re like what’s this new mole, or why is this one bigger or why do I have new wrinkles or sun spots or saggy neck skin or gray hairs. And then we get used to that and it changes again darnit. LOL
*Also, I think I finally started to love my legs when I started realizing the things they were capable of like running a marathon or squats all day every day! LOL
But I too am short and I am not quite sure there are benefits cuz I curse every time I have to get something DH put up high. LOL So help me out here! What should we love about being short?!? Not bumping our heads on things? I still find airline leg room horrendous though.
Having a lower center of gravity is nice. Also, it’s easier to bend down and do things on the ground. Also, people do not tend to ask you to reach things, lol. When it comes to clothing you can always make things shorter. When they are too short it’s harder to create length.
My legs are so short that I can kick my legs while sitting in an airplane, theater, stadium seats!! ![]()

My wife is 5’ tall (on a good day). She is the same…just sitting on the couch her feet doesn’t touch the floor.
