HS day 1 continued some more: After we survived RnRC, I check to see if RotR was up and running again - it was!!! So we traversed the length of the park AGAIN :scream: we never could have done this without ECVs , I lost track of how many times we actually did that. Round 2 of RotR went much better!! Wow what an experience!! No spoilers but wow. Very grateful that people are trying to not spoil this ride for those that want to be surprised. We will definitely be trying for BGs on our other 2 HS days.

After that we wanted/needed a snack break. But before we did I went and got a DAS return for MMRR. We both got a Wookie Cookie at Backlot Express and we shared a blue raspberry slushy. We took our time. BE was not super busy while we were there and was a perfect hideaway for an hour long break in AC. The cookies were good but fragile and I couldn’t finish mine. DH made sure no Wookies were wasted. I tried to drink my slushy too fast - twice and got a wicked brain-freeze for my trouble both times. But it was yummy.

Next was MMRR which was delightful! So much to take in. Will definitely be rode again. Keeping the theme we next went to Vacation Fun which was, well, fun!!

Finally, we had dinner at the Sci Fi Dinner which we had done 25 years ago. We stayed long enough to see the entire loop of videos. We both got the classic burger with fries and DH got a meteor cherry coke. I wasn’t able to finish my whole order but there wasn’t enough to take back to the hotel.

We decided that we’d done enough for one day so we caught the boat back to the hotel. Tomorrow is EP Future World and likely a hop to MK to ride BTMRR before it closes for refurbishment next week when we are actually planning on doing MK.

That’s it for now. We are both knackered. I’m enjoying doing the trip report and it helps me really document what is happening now and I know that in the future this record will something I’ll be grateful I did.

You are not mistaken – there were originally two drops for the ToT. Disney upgraded the equipment and randomized the drop sequences in… 2003 or 2004, I think. I rode it one time after the change, and I haven’t ridden it since. It was just too scary for me not to know how many drops to anticipate.

I’m pretty sure I’ve never gone upside-down in the dark before. I’m focused on making sure I don’t fall out!! Lol.

Also, with all that we did today, neither one of us had any motion sickness issues for which I’m very grateful. It’s been a while since we’ve done rides etc. so I was concerned that we might have changed in the meantime. I did make sure to have Dramamine handy just in case.

Thanks for confirming our memories!! We haven’t kept up with park news until recently so wasn’t aware. I can certainly appreciate not wanting to deal with that uncertainty. And it’s a shame that an “upgrade” has made it a no-go for you. I know that I have experienced that in other areas (which I can’t think of at the moment) but it’s always a disappointing situation.

That’s awesome! I suffer too and sometimes RnRC puts me down for the count. I think it depends on where you sit in the car. ToT always flips my insides up, down, and all around. EE is the same with RnRC depending on seat location. I’m glad y’all are really enjoying your trip!

RnRC in 2012 was my first roller coaster inversion! Second was Incredicoaster (then California Screamin’) in 2014!

I think people either love the drop sensation of ToT or hate it. I love it. The more drops the better! My girls don’t feel the same. Interesting that they prefer ToT to GotG in Cali because they think it has fewer drops. I’m not convinced it does.

Piper is the best short ever! Do you have Disney+? They have all the shorts so you can watch it again over and over.

What are we doing today? Rest day?

Nope. But we did get a later start. Did a little in EP. Frozen and Grand Fiesta. Then we hopped to MK for BTMRR and currently waiting and waiting in the Das line for splash mountain. 20 minutes past our return time. Regular line moving just fine. Oh well. It’s pleasant out right now. Once done back to EP and see what we are up for.

That’s right - you needed to get BTMRR in before it closes for refurb.

EP-FW
We had a late start today because sleep was needed to be human. So we had lunch at Katsura Grill about 1:30 it was good but normal Japanese fare. Then picked up das return for Frozen and the went on Grand Fiesta (the boys are back!)
It took a bit longer than usual for accessible entrance because of a couple of large parties that happened to come at the same time. No biggie we needed to wait for Frozen and inside in AC was fine by us. Timing worked out perfectly because once we finished our Frozen return was up! Btw, Donald is DH’s favorite Disney character so GF was fun!!

We then did FEA and enjoyed it. Next stop the Bakery for a snack apple cake for me and chocolate kringla for DH. Then we were ready to park hop to MK so we could ride BTMRR. Yay park to park busses!! I did get a das return for TT but ended up canceling it do we could use one in MK. We left EP about 4.

We encountered 2 cavalcades on our way to BTMRR but eventually got there. Had to wait 10 minutes to access the accessible entrance though regular line was about 25. The attendant asked us a couple times if the back seat was ok. I said yes but it’s been a minute since I was on a regular roller coaster and forgot WHY someone would ask that :grimacing::scream:. We really enjoyed the ride but there was a moment near the end that almost got to motion issues but it went away before the ride finished. We decided a few things 1) we were glad we had park hopper so we could get to ride this fun ride 2) if we were to ride again we would NOT be ok with the back seat and 3) once was enough since we have plenty of rides we haven’t ridden yet. I think if it were available next week when we planned on being in MK we might go again but it isn’t so we won’t.

By this time we needed to decide if we would stay in MK for a bit or go back to EP. We decided since we walked past Pecos Bills and allears Molly loves the corn dog nuggets there (until Casey’s opens) we would have dinner there. So I MO’d it (so far I’ve have 0 issues with getting times for MOs :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:) and also got a das return for splash mountain (canceling the TT one).

Pecos Bills was good. My DH had the chicken rice bowl and I had the kids Mac and cheese and we shared an order of the corn dog nuggets with queso. We enjoyed it all except DH did not like the salsa. I really enjoyed my mac and cheese. It was not standard park fare. It actually reminded me of my mom’s Mac and cheese when we would have it as leftovers. (She always made hers from scratch including the cheese sauce so being reminded of it is high praise). We carefully navigated our way out which was hampered by some people and helped by more people.

Got to splash mountain in time to hear a shorter female CM reading the riot act to a (obvious stupid) family. Don’t know what flavor of stupidity started things but the CM started “you are all welcome to never come here again” I think in response to a we won’t give you our business anymore type comment. Then we checked in with the 2 guy CMs for das I missed a bit. Then one of the family said “I don’t give a s&!t about something something “ and that’s when we heard the CM really go off about language and how she could have them escorted from the park!! :scream::scream: I knew they have this authority but to actually hear one about to use it :scream::coffee:! Don’t know what happened after that because well we did have to go through the line. I told DH “those people do not know who they are messing with but I’m sure they are about to!”

Then we started waiting and waiting and more waiting. There were several das people and none of them were moved for the longest time. Like almost 20-25 minutes. However, the family in front of me had a 2021 grad with a Stitch shirt and we ended up having a really pleasant conversation. We were outdoors but it was pleasant and there was a nice breeze so the time passed well enough. We ended up getting a boat to ourselves with DH in row 4 and me in row 3. We really enjoyed the ride though when someone who is 5’3” doesn’t have enough leg room … let’s hope when they redo it for the princess and the frog new boats are on the list (I know it won’t happen but I’m still going to hope). We got sprayed but that was about it. Just needed to wipe our glasses off.

Before we hopped back to EP we enjoyed our first Mickey treat of the trip - ice cream sandwiches!

Back at EP we did Spaceship Earth and Nemo. Looked at some of the lower level exhibits and then made our way back to the hotel.

Tomorrow is HS day 2 with and emphasis on Toy Story land and GE. We will be trying for a BG in the morning. Also, we have an ADR for lunch at Homecomin.

Mine, too! Donald, I mean. Is my favorite character. I got a license plate frame from the Philharmagic gift shop that said Official Donald Duck Fan Club, but someone backed into my car and creamed it 'way back in 2011. I am very much enjoying your bucket list/anniversary trip report, and now I am looking forward to seeing Mexico for the first time in a very long time.
