I have no idea what this position is/does. Probably because I have yet to do the NYC marathon.

I’m not 100% sure either - I think I’m just there to answer questions and/or just chat with runners. The marathon starts on Staten Island and the primary way to get there is on the ferry between Manhattan and SI. There are buses also. As I understand it, people sign up for their way of transportation as part of their registration process - or once they get accepted or something.
It gets me a jacket, gets me done early, and it’s on the water. I’m a happy camper.
