This is crazy! One lightning lane to replace 30 minutes of ride time (and the benefit of getting in the line for RSR before the masses descend) is not an equal trade. Very disappointed with this news.
That’s a terrible move, and I don’t think the LL is a good substitute.
So as WDW guests were asking in the absence of early entry or extended hours: remind me why I should stay at your (very expensive) on site hotel vs the one that’s (actually closer to the gate and) much less expensive? ![]()
And therefore easily can purchase LL and still save money. I agree if it’s all financial and how can I maximize time. But I think a chunk of us, me included like the bubble. This Pixar Place hotel is adorable! They are betting on the people like me. TBH these hotels seem to do pretty well. It can be hard to get a last min room in them.
Oh 100% but I was speaking as the masses
Yeah it’ll be an interesting experiment.
Wait I just saw this on Instagram, one LL PER STAY?? Not even per day? That’s ridiculous.
Oh wow. I assumed per day
Yeah this is not good
Like you said, this would likely make me want to stay off site to save and re-direct those funds to LLs. Unless they are also reducing the price of on-site hotels…
Oh you’re funny ![]()
I just looked at a TA rate for those hotels for next summer as a backup to getting DVC reservation. Not a one of them - WITH THE DISCOUNT!!! - was less than $425/nt I loathe to see what they are charging for rack rate!
Holy cow.
I wanted to stay in the bubble at DLR too for my big “once-in-a-lifetime” trip. However, even 30 minutes of EE couldn’t justify double, triple or even more of the very nice hotels on Harbor.
I genuinely enjoyed my stay at the Fairfield Inn. It was one of the nicer hotel rooms I’ve been in. It wasn’t fancy. It was very clean, super quiet, comfortable enough beds and closer to the entry. I paid $150 / night…
No DLR hotel started at less than $300+ ![]()
Yeah. WDW friends, just hush already LOL
I’m shocked they’re saying no one used early entry. That seems like an excuse to me because we used it everyday we were on site and plenty of other people were using it too. One LL over the course of your stay is a horrible deal. Especially if you buy a ticket where LLMP is included which it is if you buy the DVC Membership Beyond special tickets or the tickets offered by Costco for this summer/fall.
that’s some serious BS right there.
i stand corrected… THAT is some serious BS.
all of this. And yes, it’s a lie. no other way to say it. People DEFINITELY used Early Entry.
this is that same lie they told for Magical Express “oh, no one used it.” If no one used it, why is it one of the most common (maybe THE most common) requests to be reinstated in just about EVERY discussion about “perks” of a disney vacation?
Yup!
I just checked my room in late January against the Disney bubble.
I’m paying about $1900 for a 1 BR place offsite.
Pixar wants closer to $2850 for a studio, and the 1BR there would be $6500!
So what would I be getting for that extra $4600 (and paying 141% more)? Being on the wrong side of property for the races, and 1 anytime LL for the week? That’s it? Really?
Yeah, no.
Well I’m sure since early entry is ending, it just means the parks are going to open earlier right?
RIGHT?
My first reaction is that I am happy EE is ending because I never stay onsite! It is way too expensive anymore. And now I don’t have to worry about zigging where the onsite folks zag.
As a hypothetical guest at an onsite hotel, it’s unequivocally a bad trade. One LL per stay?!?!? Yikes, that is a thumb in the eye. Is it an MEP? Do they have to prebook it for a specific time? That could make a small difference at the margins, but generally it’s a crap deal.
That said, I still might stay at GCH someday if I can get a good deal or use points (which is occasionally possible). I don’t usually go for the EE benefit – I go for the vibe and the proximity.
