- agreed and knowing that reservation is 2 weeks out if it goes unrented those points will go into holding- DISTRESSED- that owner can only use than less 61 days out…- again just me but that is an absolute ripoff-
Here is what gets me fired up about it- 2x last year I couldn’t use my own points because the nights I wanted were booked- they were week nights mid September and early November…but plenty on the social boards…
I had owners with reservations on expiring points want 3x there annual dues…- Went to Hilton & Dolphin seriously the rental market is out of control IMO but they get away with it because most rentee’s don’t pay enough attention
Good for you doing the research
I just wish there was a way for me to tell whether DVC listings that drop off the sites were rented, withdrawn or languished until check-in date. That would be most useful, but no way to know.
- just a thought but I would think that it would be showing as available through MS … especially under 31days - give a shout and I am sure one of us could check dates
Up until January this year I would have suggested distressed reservations into a DVCAPP alert.
Seriously wish they would come back online- it was great being able to track how long rooms were either available or unavailable. I found that just as if not more beneficial than the room alert feature. For example I was able to, even with my crap skills figure out which GV would be the easiest to book when I needed one for a large family trip that although not last minute but behind the 11month mark….
I’m pulling in and managing thousands of deals now, so I’m probably not going to give any DVC Liners homework.

Ok but I’m not gonna come on in on Saturday and Sunday
I finally watched Office Space a couple of weeks ago so now I get this reference.
We never don’t stop on the channel if its on.
Same.
I have noticed that the confirmed reservations on dvcrentalstore are very expensive. I was looking last night and they wanted the same as Disney for the dates I was looking at. Then I looked at other dates and same thing.
DVCshop was the same way for a four night Poly stay over my trip dates. Exact same price as Disney, including taxes etc. As of yesterday the price had not dropped and the stay is two weeks away.
Eeesh-
Seriously direct with disney no risk, complete control of your reservation…
I just don’t get it…that reservation is distressed
Seeing a Copper Creek Grand Villa show up today makes me realize how good the previous OKW Grand Villa prices must have been!
I’d sure never spend $1853 a night for any room, but have to say the Kidani Savannah View GV must be great!
Anyone up for a super-duper deal on a VERY last minute DVC rental: BW Villas 1-BR starting 7/10: $420 per night. (The median rate for all 1BR BWV deals I’ve recorded so far is $750.)
If you’re going to keep posting these I will make this the first thread I check each morning.
Wow $12pp is definitely an excellent deal!
That is what a distressed reservation should cost IMO
That owner is no longer looking for profit but to cover mfs on points wasted
100% agreed! I once saw a confirmed Poly reservation for over $30pp. Insane. I think it goes to my point that confirmed reservations aren’t always a last ditch rental opportunity but a new rental strategy to actually get more per point!
Truly I have thought about that-
I am almost always in the minority on this but I regret that the bulk of my points are resale…if I rented out my resale points at these rates I could add on 25 direct points or so a year without financing- but it seems like an awful lot of work.
