DVC You There! - Now with Bonus Content

When I said I’d expect to see more & possibly lower Boardwalk listings appear over time, I didn’t mean two hours later. But, here we are.

By my calculations, if they continue to release BW listings at this rate every 2 hours, by tomorrow morning we will have a 28-night stay for $1.02/night.

I’ll take it!

For April, this is a very nice price for any length Grand Flo stay - it is exceptional for a 6-nighter. It is rare to see more than one that long at this price point or lower each year.

6-night Grand Floridian Studio 04/18 for $511/night or 23% under median

vs 6-nights or longer

Just not many BC studios at or below this price in December for any length of stay. For a 6-nighter there is a very good chance if we see even 1 or 2 of those, they will be well over $500.

6-night Beach Club Villas Studio 12/20 for $476/night or 14% under median

There have only been two Grand Cali January listings lower in price and one of those was a 2-nighter. I am often amazed at the high prices GC goes for, so now $408 almost feels like a warm bath.

3-night Grand Californian Studio 01/25 for $408/night or 17% under median

Considering the rooms go for almost $1000 / night if you book them cash these days, basically anything you can get for DVC is a good deal.

I just cannot fathom such room prices.

You could always do the budget option and stay at Pixar Place or Disneyland Hotel! (This is for a random weekend in October. To be fair its like $800+ in September.)

Median Poly prices for Nov are normally elevated, so this is a good relative deal. Good chance we’ll see about a dozen more listings at or below this price over time. Lower ones will be near check in date.

2-night Polynesian Villas Studio 11/28 for $541/night or 9% under median

I can not either. I am totally looking at Harbor for our Disneyland trip. I’d pay $600 a night for a couple nights at Grand Cali as a treat but that’s about it.

This one is a Theme Park view, so even more better than that 12% under median suggests! Very low chance we’ll see another 4-night or longer for September.

4-night Bay Lake Tower Studio 09/27 for $360/night or 12% under median

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again! Any sub-$200 deluxe room at Disney is #100percentwin

2-night Old Key West Studio 09/29 for $189/night or 19% under median

Very nice price for Saratoga in October in general - SUPERSIZED NICE for an 8-night listing.

8-night Saratoga Springs Studio 10/29 for $268/night or 16% under median

Note: for both of these 5-nighters: VERY likely the last listing we see AT ALL for September for Jambo and BC, SUPER VERY LIKELY the last 5-nighter!

Terrific price for a long Jambo stay! In 2024 there were a batch of long listings around this price point - last year: maybe two.

5-night Animal Kingdom Jambo Studio 09/13 for $240/night or 18% under median

vs 5-nights or longer:

5-night Beach Club Villas Studio 09/13 for $336/night or 20% under median

1-night Boulder Ridge Villas Studio 12/07 for $384/night or 29% under median

Price Drop

This is “only” 5% under median, but if you need a long stay, there are less than six 6-night or longer March GF listings at this price point each year & maybe 2 of those are cheaper.

Will we see more and/or cheaper shorter March stay listings? Yes. but, this year there were 22 total for all length stay so still not a huge number.

April may be the cruellest month, but March is right there with it for median prices.

9-night Grand Floridian Studio 03/06 orig $641/night now $592/n or 5% under median

BTW: In case it is not obvious: I often compare listings to rentals that are not the exact same length. Most I compare to 2-nights or longer.

In this last chart I chose to compare to all listings 6-nights or longer rather than 9-nights, like this listing length. Why? Because there were only two 9-night listings in the data! Not great for median comparisons. I looked at various lengths and it seemed like comparing to 6-nights was a decently useful place to be: both 6 and 9-nights are pretty long stays in the dedicated DVC rental listing world and there were 34 total March data points to compare to.

While the data are hard facts, the analysis is more squishy because we don’t really know how many listings we’ll even see from year to year (or month to month.)

You can see that proven in the 2-nights or longer Price by days out chart:

  • In 2025 there were 71 total listings and 46 of those were at the price of this listing or lower.
  • In 2026 there were 48 total listings and 22 fell in this price range or lower.

So, part data, part art figuring out how listings compare.

A 5-night Old Key West for under $200 is Amazing - especially considering at 11 months the rental sites posted a group of listings way up at $395!

5-night Old Key West Studio 08/24 for $192/night or 28% under median

$176 is pretty exceptional. For comparison, that is roughly equivalent to a $156 cash rate for a Deluxe room before taxes!

2-night Old Key West Studio 08/30 for $176/night or 34% under median

Only a few lower price listings for this room back in 2024 and easily the lowest for this year so far.

1-night Animal Kingdom Kidani Studio 09/29 for $180/night or 36% under median

Whoops, the 8 0’clock refresh snuck in an 11-month listings:

If you are OK with booking a rental 11 months out - we just don’t see that many Boardwalk listings lower than this each year.

3-night Boardwalk Villas Studio 07/03 for $329/night or 17% under median

Sadly this rental succumbed to the DVC Rental Virus that causes them to increase 1 day after being listed (at one vendor anyway.) This morning it jumped up to $240/night, which is still a very respectable 10% under median, but boo.

There are very few August data points for HHI studios, but of the 9 rentals recorded this is at the lowest price point.

4-night Hilton Head Island Studio 08/16 for $300/night or 18% under median

Duo Studios are also low volume rooms, especially in March - a $500 price personally makes my wallet itch, but it is near the lowest price recorded for this room in that month.

4-night Polynesian Villas Studio (Duo) 03/07 for $500/night or 19% under median

…and I just noticed that one DVCRentalStore GF listing that started earlier in the week kept reappearing in my active listings data.

Long story short: Looks like even though the site looks the same, they changed how their dedicated listings are being sent to the browser and I haven’t been grabbing their updated listings since about 7/31. Baby Laughing Then Surprised Animated

When my script grabbed the page and tried to turn it into clean data it had been failing and just leaving that 7/31 data file in place, so the whole process looked normal to me even though the same data was getting imported every day.

Blarg. Will try to take some time at lunch to get a new process in place for them. laugh cry

Well, took a quick look and the change in the DVCRentalStore site actually allowed me to make my process to record their listings a little more streamlined!

So, new method is in place, I’ll have to watch to make sure I didn’t introduce any new weirdness, but I don’t think so. (Famous last words.) I ran a test mid-cycle run of my scripts at 11:10AM so it should all be up to date.

Any old DVCRentalStore listings that loaded this morning will still appear in the current database as Active until they fail to re-appear tomorrow. My number crunchers do a simple check to see if the latest time a record was pulled was today and then marks it active.

Rather than my manually cleaning out the old records that were loaded today I’m just going to leave it and wait…
