Some analysis needed for both of these…
5-night SSR Studio 04/26 for $330/night or 5% under median
FWIW: The number of total listings drops by about half when you limit the chart to 5-nights or longer - and many of those are under median listings.
So, as a longer stay, I’d say even though this is “only” 5% under median, is likely a win if you want multiple days in April.
Looking at the price by days out limited to >=5-nights, you can see there have been a very small number of listings appearing any closer to April.
This one is a SAVANNAH room, so that median is really better than 13% if you factor that in.
Also, from the chart you can see you might get lucky and catch a lower price as time goes on - BUT as above, very, very few 5-nighters and even fewer of those are Savannah.
TL;DR: Grab it now if it works for you!

In the Fall, I shifted my DVC rental search engine over to using the more specific monthly medians for each resort/room type.
I recently pruned out all of the 2023 data into my archive since a rolling (current year + last 2 years) seems to be a fairly relevant kind of way to crunch medians without messing around with any inflation adjustments.
So, here’s how the Studio medians changed for each month and resort after removing the 2023 data.

Things
- I crunched the initial monthly medians in November, so had several months more current year data to include. I’ll probably do this quarterly if my brain remembers.
- Can’t really trust Vero and Hilton Head change info, too little data.
- 1st table: Difference in median in $
- 2nd table: Difference in %
- Table C: Difference in number of listings
- In these tables, red cells are ones that increased in price, green = decreased.
Without any further thought processes going on, OKW April median going down ($27) or -7% while only losing (26) listings in the 2023 purge makes me go

I only check cash rates once in awhile out of curiosity, but this disparity is gasp-worthy.
Cash rate for this same room: $1,001/night.

For Riviera in April these are right at the low end of DVC Rental prices - for longer stays they are 100% WIN. Other times of the year: not so much.

5-night Riviera Studio 04/26 for $480/night or 15% under
Other times in the year there are many lower prices for this room of course.

So that BC studio last min confirmed resi I snagged… That was definitely a canceled trip and I’ve been praying for whatever situation they find themselves in. They purchased the dining plan so we found out we get it with the reservation for free!
Sweet perk! The savings is paying for half the reservation. Today was a good day indeed!

We have not. The food was very, very good. But it was slow going, lol. We were there for over 1.5 hours. The characters were very engaging. Grumpy made me frown in our picture.
