PRICE DROP:
Really, waiting until 5 nights out from check in on this is
but, for a Savannah 1BR AND a long stay, this price is terrific.
There has only been one other listing in Dec for a 1BR priced lower - that one was this year also, but was a Value room. It appeared at the start of October and was gone the next day.
7-night AK Kidani 1 Bedroom 12/14 orig $739/night now $571/n or 29% under median
Really do not see many of this VB room type in April, but this one is coming in hot early in the calendar!
4-night VB Hotel/Inn 04/18 for $325/night or 36% under median
That would be DH’s birthday. By the time I can ask him it’ll be gone.
Geezums! And it’s gone (not surprised). In 1 minute I decided to uproot all of the Christmas plans and go to Disney.
Honestly. But it’s gone. For the best… I guess.
You never know.
You sound like a liner! For one minute, I was doing the same thing.
Yes, this one only lasted several minutes at best! ![]()
These definitely sound like preplanned reservations that had to be cancelled last minute
. Two families got some monster deals, but I’m certain two other families suddenly couldn’t go
Definitely - it is sad for those folks.
Today in the GO BIG or GO HOME category of new DVC rental listings… posting multiple close-to-last-minute listings for 25-103% over median.
I know 3 are over Christmas and NYE, but really now.
They may be over playing their hand… Disney has a lot of availability still.
I guess it’s still cheaper than what Disney charges…
NEW
While this is “only” 9% under median for this room in the month of May - in reality the price is very nice if you are looking for anything more than 2-nights.
8-night BW Studio 05/01 for $354/night or 9% under
Only a small handful of the lower priced dots on this chart are longer stays. Once you limit to just looking at 5-nights or longer, we’re talking just a few appearing each year. And - to boot: when they do appear, it is usually at 160 days out or longer, so I would not expect to see another long listing priced this low in May.
Posting these as Hmmmm.. listings as opposed to good deals - rare 10-nighters, which likely have a very small potential customer base AND 16% over median. Good luck to them!
These are both similar examples to the previous reply - “only” 11% or 14% under, but while one might see lower priced longer stays for these months, I wouldn’t bet the farm another shows up when I need it to later.
5-night SSR Studio 04/11 for $312/night or 11% under median
Note: Chart below is for 5-nights or longer.
In this case - ANYTHING more than 5-nights this far below median is rare. Have only been about 4 listings 7-nights or longer at this price or below since 2023. If you want 8nights, IMHO this is a DO IT NOW.
8-night OKW Studio 05/14 for $225/night or 14% under
I am wondering, is there an easy way to pull data for which months, historically, you are most likely to score the deepest discounts?
I’m working on various different reference charts for my DVCSeer site to show each resort’s full picture.
I’m also going to add back a past listings search engine for people who like to compare things on for specific dates to complement the charts. (I have that out there already but not ready for prime time yet.)
A few times over the last couple of years I posted all of the resorts full data charts, will have those on my site as well.
Here’s an example of the SSR Studio data for all dates with latest data.
The red vertical bars are centered over that $312/n studio in my previous reply:
BTW: I think that chart proves the point I made for that listing that in the April time frame, 11% under is a pretty good deal. (I should point out that the median in this all dates chart uses is not the same month-specific value my search engine is crunching, which makes the April deal look like it is almost right at median. The median in April is higher than the overall median.)
Have to get past some work projects and the holidays for enough time work on everything. ![]()
In general, if you are looking for the months with the “biggest discount” relative to that time frame’s usual prices, I don’t think I’ve tried crunching that in awhile and need to look at some of my old tables.
But, if you are just looking for the lowest prices - this all dates chart will show you which months those tend to be - and are probably includes the ones you might guess, like January and end of August and into September. I am still a little surprised that the end of May into the start of July is also a pretty good lowest price times too.
Anyone looking for a splurge, this BLT Grand Villa dropped in price from a lunatic $4,500/night to a still very insane $3,487/n or 44% OVER median price.
Fun(?) with numbers: Depending on which date you pick in December, the number of active rentals vs this time last year or the year before is down by about a full 1/3rd. Any market shrinking by 33% over a year is crazy to me. It’d be a stretch, but I do ponder if by next July the number of active rentals hits 3 digits.
