My opinion: Everyone should keep their avatars the same unless: 1) They have their own face in the avatar; 2) the Avatar is similar enough to the previous one to recognize continuity; 3) The user is so prolific that readers won’t get confused; 4) The user posts so rarely that no one will notice or care.

I asked my resident Fortnite expert, DS13, and he hasn’t heard of this changing your avatar event. He also said they call them skins, not avatars. Of course I could be confused and maybe the question wasn’t about Fortnite at all?
