Do you have an Online Store?

Thanks for posting the Redbubble link. I ordered from them.

@Randall1028 I complained to Society6 about my order. They told me it was flagged as a duplicate (not true- they process led my payment and immediately cancelled).

They told me to order it again. Should I respond?

I am in a mood- I think I will.

@Randall1028 I did hear back from Society6:

“Since we are an open platform, it is up to the artist when they want to remove or delete designs from their page. “

A friend was in my office this morning admiring your artwork and said she would love if you would do her a Tinkerbell one - Tink is her spirit animal. She said she really loves the style of your artwork and said it’s very “distinctly his”.

This is not available in your store though. Would you be able to add it?

I love it! Why didn’t you tell me you had a Merida illustration?!?!?

OOHH! glad I hesitated! I was looking at Raya, but Merida has my heart. 'course I could buy both in the medium size and display them side by side… What are the chances you’d do Moana? Those three characters kick ass. And none had a prince, which I love.

Got both in art board form. I’m super excited!! Thank you so much for sharing your art with us @Randall1028. I will be honored to be displaying them in all of my zooms.

I love Merida (my favorite) and Moana for that very reason. They both were princesses who saved themselves and pushed back against the social norms because those norms did not work for them. Badass but not hard if that makes sense.

cause I literally just finished her up a few days ago

She’s on the list. I haven’t because I haven’t a solid idea yet (I like creating things completely original and not an interpretation of a promo shot or movie frame), and because the one I’ve been toying with I need how to learn to do water effects. I can’t say WHEN I’ll get to her, but it should be soon-ish. Her and Mulan are high on the list.

I also keep getting this idea of a collaboration/Avengers shot with a bunch/all of the princesses.

heheh it’s funny you say that. I know as a guy my POV can clearly be warped here and I misinterpret these movies, and it’s something I’ve debated before with others, but I never saw ANY of the princesses as unable to save themselves (except Snow. The dummy.)

  • Ariel and Eric were more a team than anything. Didn’t Ariel even take on Ursula alone at first?
  • Auroa --ok bad example. But really she just got magic’d and could’ve happened to anyone. that’s like blaming someone for getting rear ended in a car.
  • Cindrella friggin made that dress on the sly AND kept the 2nd shoe even after everything else vanished by sheer will? Tell me how she didn’t save herself? If someone presents evidence at their trial that exonerates them, do you say “The judge saved them!”?
  • if Aladdin hadn’t shown up, No way Jafar wasn’t going to wake up with arsenic in his drink one day with Jasmine. Dude was a dead man, he just didn’t know it yet. If anything, Aladdin saved HIS ass.
  • Rapunzel just needed an excuse to bail, Flynn just happened to be in the right place at the right time for it. Coulda have just as easily been a hurt animal at the bottom of the tower as her excuse to leave.

So yeah, I know a common trope is to see the princesses as weak and “needin’ a man to save them!”, but I honestly never saw that. Again…except Snow. Who had the same logic-drive as a puppy (“food now, ask questions later”).

ahem…but i digress. :smirk:

Fair enough

Perhaps it’s more of what @dianelynn said that leaves me feeling like Merida and Moana saved themselves - no pesky romantic-interest man involved in that process.

Just ordered the Merida one as an acrylic block.

That princess collaboration would be a cool project!

I was talking with my friend Courtnie about the Tink one yesterday. She likes it a lot and ordered something from your shop, but she was saying that Tink looks a little too badass for her to get a larger print like she’d want. I told her thatI that’s kind of the underlying theme of all of your art. Everyone is in warrior mode. I think that’s part of what makes it so appealing, at least to me. It takes the fairy tale and gives it a badass edge. Anyway, she wondered if you might be able to do a Tink who’s more bratty (more Tink-like) and less badass. I told her I’d mention it, and am not sure if you take requests. But there you go!

Exactly. It was actually why Tink wasn’t up there originally. I was thinking “this one…ah…went too far.” And was thinking I need to do a more “classic” version before posting it on the store and was kinda regretting posting it above. So yeah, I’ll very likely do that.

But yeah, just about everything I do is basically “ok…but what if they were ALSO superheroes?” Cause my inner child runs the place.
