These Saturday estimates can’t be right. MK 2, EP 3, HS 5, AK 7? It’s a holiday weekend. Seems very misleading or at best just flat out wrong.
A friend was at MK the other day which was rated at 3. He said most rides were 40+ minutes. Cmon Len…what’s going on with your data and predictions? Does a 3 really equate to 40+ minutes?
Depending on the day, that could be a 3. Did you check what the actual crowd level was that day? Touring Plans published that data daily.
Edited to add- reports from liners that have been to MK the last few years have been it is a slow weekend. Most schools are still in session. Add that new attractions are opening the day AFTER Memorial Day, the low predictions seem right?
Bobo’s readin’ now, Lin! We’ll see how those numbers stack up against this weekend. It has level 1 with 20-60 minute ranges, maxing at around 1 hour. That’s quite a bit of hedging, to start your levels there.
We are other users, like you. Although many forum users have a lot of experience in the parks and with the Touring Plans tools. If you would like to contact staff, you can use their “contact us” form.
Thanks for that link. Had that open and my questions/concerns typed out earlier, then I discovered there’s a forum so I shifted over to here. I would’ve created my forum account years ago, Lin, but I didn’t have any questions until now.
Historically, Memorial Day itself for amusement parks in general have been very low. It is a holiday focused on family and potentially memorial events (parades, etc). So to me it makes sense even for Disney.
The levels are built statistically, so it won’t necessarily correspond to perceptions. The goal is for it to be consistent and comparable across time. The truth is that wait times at WDW are almost always high, and there is no longer a slow season. So the crowd levels are just different grades of “busy.”
The busiest days are definitely much busier than average, though - so there is a longer tail on the right end of the bell curve.
I was checking the wait times at about 7pm EST last night and I was astounded at how reasonable the waits were across the resort!
My trip is in 2 weeks and I’m trying to gauge whether this is the usual Memorial Day calm before the storm, or if maybe things will remain relatively quiet.
But I have fiddle-saddled/played the slots/ shimmied my way up in the day across both days and both parks (ep and MK). Hoping to land some good ones for second park of the day upon tapping in early in the day at park 1
I am trying to understand what is driving all of this. In all of the many years we’ve been going to WDW, I’ve never had trouble getting through Epcot Future World attractions in the morning. Do you think they are holding back on LL’s in order to have shorter standby wait times? Even since they’ve implemented LL’s, we’ve never had this much trouble getting what we wanted in the morning. My daughter has planned Epcot for Day 8 of her 4-day trip, and it is going to be tough. Predicted crowd level is only 4, but still…
