Probably good to get ice cream and maybe a few extra fans on Wednesday.

@JJT or anyone else - I am planning on getting an Amex Blue Cash Everyday to help defer the increased cost of Disney+ / Hulu (we reviewed against the Preferred and I think we’ll come out ahead with the Everyday, plus my family is not up to min/maxing ).

If anyone has a referral link and would like to send me a DM, I’m happy to use it if I get it in time. I’m not even sure what a referral gets for BCE, but I figured that I have gotten so much good information here that I’d love to pay it back a little.

I am planning on signing up by tomorrow at the latest (unless someone has a reason to wait for Cyber Monday?) regardless of referral links.

You can grab referral links in the TP shared Google sheet - the cool thing with Amex is you can use any Amex card referral link to apply for any other Amex card!

Thank you so much for the link! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Quick update - Amex’s SUB was $250, and the referral links were $200, so I went without the referral (per the note in the spreadsheet).

I was able to get my card number immediately and use it for Peacock with the Rakuten cash back (do not know if it will stack with the Amex Peacock cash back as well) and the $39.99 Peacock Premium offer that they’re making you ask for this year.

Excellent!

Gotta maximize that SUB.

Probably niche, but i thought i would report here - Delta is offering 4x miles on gift card purchases for Cyber Monday. If you know you are buying Delta tix this year it may make sense, especially if you get them on a skymiles AMEX, which may stack additional bonus.

I’m not sure this is the correct place to post this but there appears to be a fantastic Paypal deal available right now. It’s 20% back in Paypal rewards (simply cash) up to a $1250 purchase to use their buy now pay in 4 installments option. It can be used at stores like best buy, staples and home depot and many others. I would imagine this can be used for Disney gift cards from those stores. The offer should be available in your paypal account

I would do the same but I think I already have too many Disney gift cards as I bought my tickets already from Undercover tourist and I have $2200 in gift cards. And I still have the option of buying another $800 in disney gift cards from dining dollars at 15% off. I just don’t need that much in gift cards. There are six of us for our January trip and I figure we’ll have about $1300 in lightning lane costs over 4 primary park days. Add maybe $300 for another day and I’m at about $1600 in lightning lane. Then I have $185 for memory maker and I’m at about $1800. That leaves $500 in snacks and food which seems like a lot since we eat kosher and therefore don’t eat too much at the park. They have kosher fast food options but they’re pretty terrible. I need to check pricing on the mickey pretzels and ice cream to see how much we’ll realistically spend.

Very nice! Thanks!

Same! My last trip I came up with the idea of having Uber Eats deliver an order from Kosher Grill to DHS rideshare pickup spot. Worked perfectly and right on schedule!

You can currently buy $100 Disney Gift card for 15% through Google Play Store.

Yeah, we’ve done that years ago in universal. They’re much closer to universal so it makes it a little easier to order in. It was much more annoying because this was before Uber Eats existed so I couldn’t track the driver but we made it work.

Woot! Requested a high floor pool (fireworks) view at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress and we got a room with a balcony too.

Explorist for the win!

It started pouring around 6, we’re hoping it clears and the fireworks are a go. We didn’t get here until after the sunset.

We were at HS this afternoon, and drenched from getting to the car and to the hotel in our ponchos, and walked in the wrong entrance, so trekked ourselves past a corporate holiday party and two big Indian weddings before we got to the lobby. This place is swanky!

Be ready for the parrot Merlot they have as a mascot - his scream squawks really fill that giant atrium! He had my kids laughing so hard when he kept squawking one day.

Currently in Charleston for a mini-vacay and leveraging some interesting CC bennies for the first time:

  • Delta Skyclub is my new fave LGA lounge. Huge and gorgeous. Amex Platinum gets you in up to 10x/yr, but guests are $50 additional each. We had to wait 10 mins to get in. You can bypass the line with a Delta Skymiles Reserve if you charged your flight to the card.
  • We booked hotel through CSR’s “The Edit” program and got a $250 credit off a 2-night stay and paid the rest w/Ultimate Rewards points at a boosted rate of 2cpp. Result: The ~$800 stay cost me 30k points and came with free breakfast and other bennies. It did require a fair amount of searching in Chase’s travel portal to find the deal. Amex’s competing FHR/THC program is easier to find availability for, however Chase has more advantageous point redemption.
  • I used the new CSR dining credit at Oak Steakhouse in Charleston. Chase credits you $150 twice a year towards a (limited) number of participating restaurants, but the ones they have are quite nice. They have no kosher restaurants (yet) but we are lenient with ice cream and coffee/tea when traveling, so this was our first time using it. It’s similar to Amex Platinum’s competing Resy dining credit, but Amex has a far larger restaurant network including several kosher choices.

Not credit card points, but a terrific perk - these Disney Visa prices for Jan and Feb are pretty nice!
