Capital One Blues
Just want to follow up with this one from over in the credit referrals thread:
You can still get the Capital One Venture 100K referral page with Jsanta’s link, but darn it if Capital One doesn’t just let you apply for it!
They run you through the pre-approval routine and then offer you what they want to.
I kept getting thrown at the no fee, NO BONUS Venture One card even though they rated my credit as “Excellent” (Geez I’m still over 830 these days).
At the bottom of that page you can select a link to other cards to apply for - but that page has the Venture 75K + $250 Cap One travel portal credit offer.
I’d sorta kinda of think about that - 75k is still good, but I really do not want to be roped into a $250 credit I have to use in their portal and that will expire within a year.
AND - it is not entirely obvious if I did apply for that card instead of the V1 they offered that Jsanta would even get a referral.
So silly. Since earning these Cap One points was a long game for me, I’m just going to wait them out. Probably unlikely there’s a direct 100K offer when you look at the historical offers for this card, but worst case scenario is I just still get a 75K offer in the future. Or I just don’t bother.
