I love how your daughter is looking at you. I can hear her scream “DAAAAAAAAD!” in my head. :joy:

This not being in a bathroom, perhaps that body part is less ambiguous?

And this one too?

Taking another run at Three Bridges again tonight! Was too good to pass up before we left.

DS is trying the Steak Frites, but had made a deal to swap some for some of my cured salmon, which we both loved the other day.

DW getting fish tacos, DD trying the burger which sounds great.

Sunlight tonight after storm passed through is nice.

This looks better than another Robert Galbreth novel (started those because of a forum on here too) but “dark” is not my thing.

JJT’s air bags being stolen from a car in a Miami hotel parking lot makes me think of something from a Carl Hiaassan novel, so maybe I should throw one of those in there too…

I stayed there for the first time the weekend before last. We were on a whirl wind trip so didn’t have much resort time.

Reflecting back it did have more of the feel of the Boardwalk, that you were in the middle of something and not secluded at a resort. That energy can be fun and in both cases the proximity to 2 parks can’t be beat. I will also say the quiet pool was quite relaxing.

On the other hand, we stayed at Boulder Ridge for one night and Wilderness Lodge was HEAVEN. The themeing is not my favorite but the resort-y seclusion and relaxation was awesome. We felt that way about POR too. So I think my family is team “quiet resort”.

Looking at your pictures I think I would love CSR for the same reasons, plus I love that architectural style. As a DVC owner I may never get to try. Unless of course I get a great hot wire price to add on a couple of nights!

Question for you: what color do you think the YC exterior is?

(My wife and I had a conversation about this and I was surprised by her answer.)

Hmm, I don’t think a color registered for me. Cheating with my photos in thinking it’s a gray with some teal in it?

But, full disclosure, my girls often disagree vehemently with the colors I think things are.

Not sure if it is because they have more colors in their mental database or I’m weird.

From my memory, I thought it was gray. My wife said it was tan. When we looked up pictures, I became completely unsure of what colors even mean.

Gray, right?

It’s a taupe color, which can present as both grayish and tan based on the way light reflects onto it. Which is why when you look at different pictures you think you’re losing your mind.

Didn’t the term “greige” become a thing for a while?

Yeah, lol.

Ugh, not the room with water view I was looking forward to.

It didn’t cover all the rooms, so maybe they aren’t assigning the covered ones? There are dudes walking back and forth on those things, would be weird

Grey. Since 1996 at least. Love that hotel! :poodle:

Follow up of tonight’s Three Bridges Part Deux: once again, all thumbs up.

I wanted to try the Steak Frites, but the call of the poke bowl with cured salmon was too strong. Last time, was a perfect portion, I finished at the same time I was full. This time? There had to be something like 25% more of everything. It was huge.

DS did get the steak Frites, asked for medium rare. Looked slightly more rare than medium, but both of us like it that way. He was in heaven. I tried a bite:

old ny lady voice It was like butter.

Frites were delicious, spiced nicely, he was dunking them in the steak juice. Only complaint, could have been a bigger steak.

DW got pork tacos (did I say fish earlier? Brain cramp.) Interesting combo of flavors, very nice soft shells, came in handy holder. Some pepper in it was a bit hot for her. Needed something on the side to round out the meal. Still, enjoyed.

DD, after last night’s Geyser Point bison burger experience, boldly went for ANOTHER burger and she was over the moon. Pretty good for someone who doesn’t eat a lot of meat.

Finished with another round of churros. The ones the other day were very good, today’s were fresher or something and were phenomenal.

Forgot to take a photo.

Kids headed to room, DW and I got a coffee and watched the buildings light up at sunset.

Just back from late night swim over at quieter Ranchos pool, now heading to the Tower Dahlia Lounge to check out the view from there.
