Cake Bake Shop

You can make reservations now in MDE. I believe today might be the first day that it has worked. I had checked yesterday and saw no availability for any day through December. Just a heads up.

WDW today just announced it too - so I was coming here to make sure people knew!

I guess this is the time I confess I have an ADR for The Cake Bake Shop. I know my people will like it. Just have to breathe in on the pricing  We are headed down on the 26th so the countdown is on!

Only 1?

I have several for different days in Dec. I’m also going next week

Haha. Well, I technically have two but probably will only use one. But who knows?

Oh yeah me too.

So that’s why I can’t find any

No, it’s all good. I’m going in January.

I’m scared

I’m looking at the menu, and they’re missing two of my favorite dishes

They also don’t have the mushroom soupe, which is the second best mushroom soup I’ve ever had. But they do have the Chicken Velvet Soupe, which is also crazy good!

And I don’t know where this whole Louisianafication of the menu came from.

The owner of the brand was born in New Orleans, but she was raised in Sun Valley, Idaho.

Fair, but before the Disney location was close to opening, there wasn’t any gumbo or Po Boys on the menu.

Shouldn’t that mean a lot of potatoes on the menu?:crazy_face::crazy_face:

Those are on the menu at the Carmel City Center location in IN, but I don’t know when they were put on that menu. :person_shrugging:

I just looked back. The po boy has been on the menu since this past summer. The gumbo replaced the mushroom soupe about 2 months ago

Edit! Whoops, forgot an e in soupe :person_facepalming:

I went today!!

Parking at BW was not a big deal at all. Just told the CM at the gate I had a reservation at CBS and showed ID and he sent me through with a smile.

Got the table ready text about 5 minutes after I checked in.

The place is gorgeous! And all decorated for Christmas.

The top rotated!

I had the Rosemary ham quiche. It was delicious. Smooth and creamy but light.

I shared the Millionaire cake.

As someone that doesn’t really love cake, I really enjoyed this. The frosting isn’t overly sweet and the cake has a dense texture almost like a flourless chocolate cake (which is my top pick for cake)

I also took home a slice of Red Velvet to share with my family.

It wasn’t as good but still tasty for cake

I bought it at the bakery on my way out and while there was the option to add a tip it wasn’t automatically added to my total.

I’m going to tea in December and I’m really looking forward to it now

Please tell me he responded “You know we own ABC though, right?”

:zipper_mouth_face: withholding “aptly named cake” joke

Glad you liked it! And as a fan of cake…I do have to say, the chocolate portions of that bazillionaire cake look good. Not sure about the icing though. (These places like to get weird with their flavors and so it might ruin it for me. I’d have to try it and see. )

It’s Italian buttercream so was not over sweet like most buttercream is and the salted carmel sauce and chocolate ganache were really good!

any hint of liqueur or some fruity flavor in it? they like to do that to appear “sophisticated”.

Nope. I liked it and I have been known to scrape all the frosting off of cake because I hate it!

Are you saying you aren’t sophisticated?

I’m glad we ordered the Millionaire Cake! I don’t think I would have liked that Red Velvet Cake. It has way to much frosting!
