I hear you. Day old cake can be like day old bread! Don’t ask me to pay big bucks for day old cake!

Would he also bring me some cake samples? At $22+ per slice, I don’t think I’ll be trying a lot of flavors. :boar:

If you come to the meetup in Dec, I’ll buy you a slice of cake. But you are on your own if you want anything to drink with it. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Just in case anyone still has this on their radar and wants to know what BlogMickey thought of his meal…

That was a really good review – thank for posting it.

I kind of want to go now. I was shocked by the pricing at first, as I had never really heard of the Cake Bake Shop and assumed it was something other than it actually is. But it looks really nice inside and some of the dishes look fabulous like the shrimp po boy :yum:.

Same, I’ll try it at least once. But a lot of the other issues people have with it, too many high end TS at the BW, the theming, etc don’t bother me :woman_shrugging:

I noticed that The Cake Bake Shop now shows hours of operation for each service and of course the “Coming Soon” moniker is gone. I imagine they are about to start taking Dining Rezs soon.

Nice review.
I like that they gave the good with the bad
And noted that the decision to install a very pricey restaurant in this location is not on Cake Bake Shop to correct. I suppose that’s fair, and something I think a lot of us have been blaming it for.
Still, I’m not sold on it. Especially with the cake - at THE Cake Bake Shop - being dry? If you can’t get the CAKE right at the cake bake shop, how can I trust that you’ll get the rest right?

Let me know when we’re going. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: I will say that their review of the cake was disappointing. No cake with a simple syrup on it should be dry, and no place named for cake should be serving less than stellar cake, but especially at $24 per slice.

The cake is the only thing I’d have gone for, and with that review I wouldn’t bother. I’ll be interested to see what others say about it.

So here’s the thing. I don’t really like cake :grimacing:

But I do enjoy good food. So I’ll try it once and decide if it’s worth a second visit for the money

Probably less about too many high end and more about not enough low end. Although, I do think there are more options than people realize.

I feel with at least 2 other hotels within walking distance it should be covered. :woman_shrugging: but I’m not the typical vacationer. I’ll pop in and eat, maybe hit a park and then sleep in my bed at home.

I’d rather have a pastry or ice cream

I’ll eat cake if it’s the only option and have had a few in my life that were delicious. But it’s usually a disappointing treat.
