Has anyone bridged a discount ticket from a 3rd party recently? I did it back in April, but I need to get APs for my 4 kids now and I’m nervous about whether or not it will work this time.
Anyone know if they are still doing upgrades over the phone?
Thanks!

I bought a three day base for December from undercover tourist about a month ago added it to MDE and then called Disney and had them convert it to an annual pass two weeks ago. And I saved a little money versus what it would have cost me to buy either of these direct through Disney. It still works. I will say though that there is a button on MDE and WDW website to “change ticket” and this will not work—you have to call

Will you have to go to guest services when you arrive in December? I want to convert our 6 day PHs to APs. Just wondering if I should make them 7 days that way I have a day left on the ticket for our last day in DS and do it then.

I specifically asked about this as I remembered in the past something about “activating” them at guest services before using…the cast member said that tapping into the park for the first time would activate them but that I would still need to go by guest services to pick up the physical annual pass card to be able to get annual pass discounts.

I just show them my pass in my Mobile Wallet and they accept that for discounts.

Good to know! (…I take most cast member answers with a grain of salt)

And @kerrilux_625778 this is great intel! I really don’t want to have to deal with it until our last day in DS. I have a Disney Visa and am fine with getting that discount where available for this trip. Can you think of any specific instance where an AP discount would be wildly better?

You don’t use the card for discounts anymore. They make you show your AP in the App so they can see that’s active and not expired.

Update -
I bought tickets for my 4 kids through Boardwalk Ticketing a couple of days ago. I linked them this morning, then called in and had them upgraded. I should note, we are DVC, and were upgrading to the DVC (Sorcerer’s) Pass. I ended up saving about $70/ticket doing it this way. Took a little extra time, but worth it for the savings in my opinion.

So, just so I understand… did they credit you the WDW price for your Boardwalk Ticketing discounted tickets?

No, they just charged me the difference between the Disney cost for those tickets and an annual pass.

Thanks. I did not word that question very well. What I meant was did they base your difference on what you would have paid if you had bought your park tickets through Disney rather than what you actually paid to Boardwalk Ticketing? Is that where your $70 savings/ticket came in?

Yes, they based it on the Disney price, not the Boardwalk Ticketing price.

General questions here about APR’s. If I use AP’s, I need APR’s and cannot hop until 2PM. If I use dated tickets, I don’t need APR’s and can hop anytime, right?
For our upcoming trip in July, I wasn’t sure which admission type we would be using, so I booked APR’s for each day. Now I am thinking of buying dated tickets and bridging them. If I enter the parks at first with tickets, and later convert, will it mess anything up with MDE if I have APR’s?

You can hop at any time with the AP. The after 2 pm thing is to get into a park with an AP without an APR (*except MK on the weekend).
I was upgrading my husband last month from a regular park hopper to an AP and basically had to wait until the last day of the trip so as to not have to make APRs. Just remember that if you do upgrade to an AP once the ticket has started being used, you have to do so in person

So, if I understand you correctly, if I have an APR for MK and I am using an AP, I can hop to Epcot at noon if I want, even though my APR is not at Epcot? In this case, in the AM, will Genie advance Epcot attraction times to 2PM or show all immediately available times?

You could hop to Epcot at noon or any time earlier as long as you had tapped into MK first. Regardless of which park you have your APR, all 7 am virtual queues are available to you—ie. You can go for a GotG boarding group at 7 am even if your APR is for MK or go for a Tron BG at 7 am even if your APR is for HS. For the 1 pm BG, you must have first tapped into that park earlier in the day. With Genie, it just shows the natural advancement of return times for all the parks. If your APR is at MK and you either bought multi park genie+ or just Epcot genie plus, you could potentially book a 9 am return time for Remy or Frozen right at 7 am and/or book and modify lighting lanes at your second park to your heart’s content. Caveat, as far as I could tell however, you can no longer modify between parks. That is, you can’t book Dumbo and modify it to Soarin’

Thanks, I was confused on the PH rules for AP’s. So, at this point in time, Genie no longer advances available times to 2PM under any circumstances, correct?
