IIRC, they say something like “You’d pay $500, but with the bounce-back offer it drops to $350” which makes it sound like a great deal. But what you don’t realize is that if you adjusted your dates a bit, the price could actually be even lower… ![]()
I booked a ticketless package for my last bounceback offer. Does this mean that I have to eventually add tickets (or dining) to the package? Considering convention tickets and not interested in dining. And wondering if I would need to switch from package to room-only to do so.
Nope. Ticketless packages are a thing.
And you’ll het mini golf vouchers and a coupon book for it being a package.
Interesting. So pulling from another of your posts.. Is this still an accurate comparison?
-
Ticketless package - $200 deposit and final/full payment due or cancel for full refund 30 days before arrival. ie Smaller deposit, but pay in full (or cancel) sooner
-
Room-only - one night deposit and final/full payment due upon check-in or cancel for full refund 8 days before arrival. ie Larger deposit, but pay in full (or cancel) later.
Any other pros and cons to these options?
Other than those things, sounds about right.
That covers it
Well also wherever you’re getting tickets from, you have to pay those in full and can’t cancel them. If you changed your ticketless into a regular package with tickets, the tickets are also then refundable within that package and you don’t have to pay for them in full right away. That tends to be the bigger benefit for most people. Buying tickets at full payment on purchase with no refund option is pretty substantial especially with bigger families.
Oooh - this is an excellent point. Over on chat some people are booking their bounceback package both for thw discountwd room rate and a hedge against ticket price increases.
If you book a package, can you later change it to a room-only booking?
Can’t change it, per se, because they are two different systems (according to the CMs I interacted with). It’s possible you won’t get the same exact room. Plus, you can’t apply your deposit to the room only and will have to pay a deposit of the first night. They will refund the deposit and any payments you’ve made to the package.
Yes, I have “broken a package” to room only but you have to call.
I’m so glad people are discussing things on this thread again. We had two resort stays this month and I received an email after the checkout from All-Star sports on the sixth. We checked out of Coronado Springs on the 11th and I have yet to receive a bounce back email. The first one has expired. I think. I’m hoping the second one comes. I don’t truly know when I might want to visit next year, but I may do a couple room only Reservations for now.
Sorry for continuing to shift this topic from Bouncebacks to Packages vs Room Only resi’s… But curious! What was you’re reason for going from package to room-only?
Does the bounce back offer show up online (when logged in)?
We had a split stay and I didn’t want the second part to have tickets (the first part did) - so we did 3 nights with a 4 day ticket (you are able to purchase 1 more ticket day than your # of nights stay on a package), and then a 2 night room only. The ticket use period on the 4 day ticket extended to our second stay enough to match our plans.
We had fiddled with the dates and resorts so many times for that trip that I really wanted the flexibility of tickets on a room package rather than separate, so that I could reschedule and modify. This variation of a split stay is what worked for that.
I don’t think they send an email, the bounceback will be in your offers on the website when you log in. Since you checked out on Tuesday, you need to book by next Monday night as it will disappear Tuesday.
Yes! And in the “active” window (7 days after you trip ends maybe?) you can modify online too. After the active window closes, you have to call to modify but they will still honor the bounceback rates.
According to multiple sources, the emails are only sent sporadically. However you do not really need the email as you can call in to make the reservation as long as it is 7 days or less from you checkout day.
You can. Theu gwt cranky with you because it takes a lot of work. I have definitely done that.
My trip was iffy because of work. Room only gives you longer to cancel.
