For DVC you can see a calendar that shows what nights are available. I have no idea why we can’t do that on the regular hotel side. So frustrating!!
Not sure I believe this…
It might be (might, said with the most optimistic optimism anywhere because I know disney IT sucks) that hotel booking is so vast and dynamic that it would be difficult at best to be sure what was left in inventory at any given moment with people booking/modifying/canceling all the time
DVC is pretty vast but there’s for sure a finite amount of availability which is significantly less than overall hotel availability
Grasping at straws because I agree 100% as someone looking OFTEN at that booking engine that it would be easier to see the whole calendar of availability than to hunt/peck as we do now
I have definitely had CM try to force me into a ticketless package when booking bounceback, but when I was firm about room only, they did it.
Online is so much easier - you don’t have to fight anyone!
Overall I see a ticketless package as preferable, mainly for the low deposit required
What is your main reason for pushing back on that and insisting on room only? Is it the 7 day cancel vs 30 days?
Usually my 1st night at Pop on bounceback is similar to that $200. I like flexibility. My bounceback is usually for a trip during a time with some uncertainty to my schedule. Sometimes I drop a day, there are chances I might need to cancel. 30 days feels like a commitment, though I have no problem with DVC
Ah yes, when you get into the values it makes a lot of sense. Sometimes the $200 is MORE than the 1 night!
I wonder why? Do they get more credit for booking packages?
I am going to show my lack of tech knowledge here
I prefer to use my desktop computer when searching for reservations rather than my phone. I see on my bounce back offer flyer that to book online, I need to scan the QR code. How can I do this and still use my desktop?
If you search for hotels and you are logged in, it should shown up for you under deals.
I just learned (as an experienced TA) that when you call to book a package you’re booking with Disney Travel Company and they are getting the revenue. When you book room only, you’re booking with the hotel directly, and they get the revenue. It’s all part of the bigger WDW company, but it probably matters when their numbers for each division wash out at the end of each month, quarter, and fiscal year.
This is the key to getting any offer to populate that is for a specific demographic (like AP or DVC or recently traveled)!!
Aha! I just did that and the “Offer Type:” showed up as “Room”. Thanks!
(I didn’t know that bounce back offers would appear under my special offers.)
This makes a ton of sense!
It is new for 2025!!
If I checked out last Saturday (5/3) is my bounce back offer still good tomorrow?
I only book room only with bouncebacks. My TA does it each time.
