I believe in Celtic music, in particular. A lot of fiddling there.

There definitely is! What my mum refers to (having been brought up in a music loving Irish household) as ‘fiddle de dee crap’.

Faffing is just time wasting. Aimlessly sauntering around, or doing anything except what you’re supposed to be doing!
As in “stop faffing about and get your shoes on”.
Or “I never got around to watching XYZ last night, I was too busy faffing around”. I.e. Spending too much time reading the TP forum
