He’s onna cruise for a bit
Where do you see that?
Oh, I found it! I know Disney sent TP the files, I wonder if that double mistake is from Disney or TP.
I’m reading this again and you are right that this description makes no sense. Not sure how a room with 1 King would sleep 5! But I’m thinking this is like how they have historically done Port Orleans rooms until recently. Some rooms slept 5 but it wasn’t a booking category. However, it you put 5 people on the reservation they will definitely give you a room that sleeps 5.
I randomly got a King room at Pop recently (booked a regular standard room) but because I was a 1 person reservation. They would not have given me that room if I had 4 people booked.
Ok. So what I’ve gotten out of this is:
- The walk to EPCOT is pretty short for both Villa and Inn.
- The walk to HS from both is reasonable (except in the heat).
- Unknown if Boardwalk Inn rooms sleep 5 by default, especially if booking for 4.
- The long walk list on the room finder from the Villas to transportation/lobby may be overstated.
- We may have to wait until @len is done galavanting on the high seas for clarity.
Yeah…and in fact if you are in the villas, and at the far end away from the lobby, you can use the exit by the pool as a shortcut to the walkway, which saves a few minutes.
My wife and I personally request being close to the elevators (which is also close to the lobby) which to me gets you get close to transportation (boats and buses) as well. If we can’t get that, then we prefer second floor (which is the same floor the lobby is on).
We tend to favor using the boats to walking for Epcot, but walking to HS unless it is hot or we are particularly tired. This is because the route of Boardwalk TO HS has two additional stops, so it takes a lot longer. If you manage to catch the boat TO Epcot just right, it is a direct route so you are there in a jiffy. (The walk to Epcot isn’t bad…but there is a ton of walking INSIDE Epcot, so saving steps helps…plus, there is that annoying hill!)
But the ferry! OH THE FERRY! Is absolutely lovely
This is true. If we noticed the Epcot ferry approaching or at the dock when we were headed there, we definitely hopped that.
True that there are more stops to HS, but it’s just such a nice ride that I have a hard time finding fault with it anyway. And I think to beat it I would have to be hoofing it at a pretty fast pace, which I have no interest in doing at all.
That it is.
We often just like to ride the boats for no reason other than being lovely.
Reminds me of another “hack”…if you just miss the boat to HS from BWV, particularly if you are staying on the Garden View or Boardwalk view wing, you can generally quickly walk over to the Swolfin dock to catch it from there just in time.
Honestly only did that a couple times, but it is an option if you want to save a few minutes.
And of course, on resort days, there is taking the boat to Epcot or HS, then taking the Skyliner back around to the other park and then take the boat back again.
There is just so much to love to the Epcot resorts!
The more I stay there the more I agree.
From the villas it can be pretty short. You can walk inside and exit further down the path. You can also go through the pool exit to the boat (1 minute walk).
I looked at deluxe hotels room finder for Boardwalk Inn
Selected “room type” which brought up this
Looks like Club level could get you the day bed
Back on dry land!
I think the majority do, at least as far as I can tell from Disney’s spreadsheet. I’m ignoring accessible rooms. But there are plenty of exceptions.
Garden Room - Club Level Access rooms, for example, seem to have just one king bed.
Some Resort View rooms, such as 1325 and 1326, only list 2 queen beds, with no entries in the “Additional Bedding” columns that display “1 daybed” for other rooms.
Other Resort View rooms, such as 2292, have only one king bed and a note that says explicitly “Sleeps 2.”
Some Resort View - Club Level rooms, such as 4237, 4240, and 4259, have 1 king bed and 1 daybed, so that’s 3 people max.
Some Water View rooms, including 3259 and 3271, have only 1 king bed.
The Sonora VP Suite (room 4219) has 2 queen beds.
I’d have to look at how we’re calculating it. We tried to automate a lot of those calculations and it’s possible it’s a series of worst-case assumptions. I’ll add it to the to-do list. We need to get the new room request UI out first.
@len, there seems to be an issue with the Boardwalk Inn room descriptions.
This is room 4298. As @whisperfigment noted, there seems to be extra beds listed.
I think that if this is a hard requirement for you then you probably need to book with a 5th person or book a villa. Sounds like you will probably get space for 5 but it’s not a guarantee.
Agree. If your party of four can fit into a room and there is a party of 5 that actually needs the space, you’ll be bumped in favor of them for sure.
Not sure how this relates to the “Bedding” entry that shows up for individual room details, but this is something that seems really useful for filtering at resorts like Beach Club / Boardwalk Inn.
@len Why “bedding” and not “beds”? Bedding sounds like sheets and blankets to me. ![]()
Unfortunately also puts it out of my price range
.
Weirrrrrrd. Thanks for that. I’ll take a look.
Is this across all BWI rooms w/2Q and 1 daybed?
