- How far are the Villas away from EPCOT and Hollywood Studios?
- Per the room finder, are the Villas really 13-16 minutes from the lobby and transportation? That seems really far.
- For the Inn portion, is it difficult to get a 5th sleeper room if requested
It really depends on location. But it is on the order of a 15 minute walk. A little closer to HS if you are in a room toward that end of the building. Distance to transportation is probably about 5 minutes, max.
- We’ve talked about this before, but I couldn’t remember so I mapped it out and googlemaps says its 0.4 miles or 9 minutes walk to Epcot and 0.9 miles or 18 minutes to Hollywood
- I can’t imagine anything is that far since you could walk to Hollywood in 18 minutes
- Can’t answer that sorry
You could see if Len et al has any suggestions on looking up 5th sleeper rooms in the room finder?
I took a quick look - there doesn’t seem to be an option to search for Boardwalk Inn rooms with daybeds versus not. To do that search, I think they’d need to let people filter on the bedding field or have some way to count overall? (I could see this being useful at other resorts, like Beach Club, as well. We didn’t get a 5th sleeper there, and they ended up moving us to Yacht Club.)
As an aside, when I click through, some of the Inn rooms (eg 1319 - I just picked a couple at random) state for bedding:
“2 Queen-Size Sleeper Sofas, 2 Queen Beds, and 1 Day Bed“
That seems odd…I don’t think that room is a suite or anything special. So the bedding feed from Disney might be a little suspect.
Some villas are literally 1 minute away from the lobby and therefore maybe 3 minutes from the buses? But I suppose if you are all the way at the end of the hall by the DHS walkway I would probably give myself 10-15 minutes to get to the bus stop.
Although, of you don’t mind using the stairs, you can use the side entrance down at that end (red path) and get to the bus stop much faster. That’s what we did to go TO the bus stop when we were down that way…but when coming back with weary legs, we went the long way around to use the elevators (yellow path).
I think the buses might be measured at a few minutes from the lobby? I have never have a 10 minute walk to the lobby at BWV but maybe I walk fast. I think once you learn the villa side and the stairways (if you can use them) the walks are much less than many resorts. Even just going down to the main pool can save so much time.
I’m thinking I like the Inn side over the Villa side, but I’ll need to verify that any room I get can sleep 5. That is probably a deciding factor for me at this rate.
I believe that if you are putting 5 people into the room with the booking tool, it will sleep 5 in actual beds! Like I don’t think they do the “sleeps 5” BS of the 1-bedrooms with beds for 4 unless you are booking using DVC.
I don’t have 5, just 4. We always look for a room that sleeps 5 so that everyone has their own space to sleep.
Just add another fake child to the booking!
Its been about 5 years for us. I can’t remember how long the walk was to HS but I do remember it being a bit miserable in the heat with no shade (early March). Preferred the boat if we could get it. But also got frustrating trying to catch it at the right time. Super easy walk to Epcot.
Not stayed at Boardwalk Inn but at Yacht Club and Poly we’ve had the 2 queens and a day bed.
It was the sleeper sofa mention that was throwing me. ![]()
(IIRC, all the rooms as Yacht Club and Poly (may also be true for GF, and maybe Contemporary? The OG big hotel rooms) have daybeds. Seems like Beach Club and Boardwalk are only some?)
We actually had 2 adults, 2 kids, and 1 under 3 when they gave us a Beach Club room with no daybed. I don’t remember if the youngest was on the booking though…
I put in 2 adults and 3 kids (age 5, 6 and 7) and these are the only two rooms that were offered to me besides villas. Looks like they have both sofa and day beds. I think it needs to be a “real” kid and not a baby.
$509/night isn’t a bad price! But do you know the pool is closed Jan-Apr 2027?
We stayed a few nights in May in a Villa (overlooking the pool if you want to see the location on the maps). If I recall correctly it was about .3 miles to Epcot and .7 miles to HS.Of course that’s when we walked straight there and didn’t have to go get ice/drink cup refills/snacks on our way. There is a little slope upward toward Epcot but nothing crazy.
The studio villa fit 5 if I recall correctly. One bed for 2 people, one Murphy bed for 2 people, and one single pulldown bed (the little ones under the TV in many of the DVC studios).
Yes the studios definitely all actually sleep 5!
I have stayed at Boardwalk Inn 3 or 4 times since 2021 and have always received a room with 2 queen beds and a sleeper sofa that sleeps 1 person.
Yes, but it’s the “or two queen beds” on the first one that they’re worrying about, I think?
Manually looking through room finder at all “two queen beds, resort view” room type:
1306, 1313, 1325, 1326, 1337, 1341, 1342, 1344-1351, 1353 - no day bed listed for bedding
- 16 out of 47 on floor 1
But on the 5th floor, only 2 out of 35 are listed without daybed. Second floor has at least 5 (out of 63) but also seems better.
I stopped looking then because I wasn’t sure which view would be relevant.
(I still think the 2 queen beds + 2 queen sleep sofas + daybed is wrong / shouldn’t have the sleep sofas, so I don’t know the reliability of this data overall.)
Let’s see. I take this little lamp here, and rub it just like this and hope that POOF @len the Genie pops out.
I am wondering if the room finder could add an additional filter for this.
