Aulani bound... anyone else going soon or been? Tips and important details due to, you know, covid ;)

IDK the answer to that, I assume one person can go down to sign up family.

I asked and was told no… I had to sign up each day on the day of… which considering how few ppl were there they could have done it differently.

Oh heck then I would have gone down and waited in the line without DH! :joy::joy::joy:

lol… I should have but IDKY I didn’t??? We were swimming/snorkling every morning first thing… I think it was around that same time.

Bags are unpacked and put away. Dropped off car early for tomorrow servicing and DH was excited to activate

Tip: the ticket windows usually have shorter line than GS

Are you going to a park or just stopping by the ticket window?

We are planning to go in 2023 as a family (for DW’s and my 10th anniversary). Last year, I never would have imagined that the Covid-19 pandemic would possibly impact that trip in any way, but now I’m not so sure.

Got this email today. Our next visit isn’t for another 223 days though. Aloha

TP posted this article about pool chairs at Aulani. Someone mentioned recently about what a nightmare saving pool chairs is, so I’m glad they’ve made these changes:

  • Before 8:00 a.m., guests must be using their chair; any unattended items will be taken to the nearest Kawele Korner.
  • From 8:00 a.m. until pool closing, belongings that are left unattended for more than an hour will be removed and taken to the nearest Kawele Korner.
  • Upon returning to a chair, guests are to pull the folded towel down to let Cast Members know they are actively using the chair.

I don’t get that last one - what “folded towel” and how is it “pulled down?”

I think they’re as shown in that top row of chairs. Maybe they put a fresh one on the chair each morning at 8am? And when the chair has been cleared?

Ah that would make sense. I’ve been to Aulani, but it was 2016 so even if I remembered, things could have changed since then.

People actually walk around and monitor pool chairs, adjust towels to mark them etc. We always got front row at lagoon b/c hardly anyone else was up when we went in the morning. DD and I plan to grab those shaded spots, by the pool, early b/c her and her DH love to hang out at the pool all day and they are fair skinned. I’ll be back there in 30 days (as long as the airlines don’t mess up my plans again :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:) and I’ll let you know how it goes

Looking for an Aulani tips/planning thread. Can anyone direct me to a current place to research and ask questions?
