4 adults, coming in back gate of Epcot. plan is to ride Remy at 8:30am. Will use LL for TT, Soarin’, SE. Ind LL for GOTG. It is a 3 crowd day. Trying to fit in Frozen without to much hastle. Better to hustle over after Remy and ride it with a 30 minute wait (predicted by tool) or is there a good chance we can grab a LL later in the day? Or, maybe try to get on before Illuminations (which we want to watch?) I’d prefer not to have to rush over there too much in the morning as it seems like unnecessary stress, but I have no idea what our odds are of grabbing a LL or fitting it in with a 30 min or under wait later. FYI, we plan to take a break from about 1:30-5 and return after that. Priorities for the day are TT, Soarin, GoTG, LwtL–frozen and Remy are a step down, but since using the back gate, want to take advantage. Will also fit in figment, nemo/seas, etc.Thank you!
Edit: just did some reading…no LL “drops” for FEA, only TT? Yikes. We love TT so I feel obligated to grab that one first, but is the better play to grab Frozen and look for later drop of TT? Or, I guess I should just book it over to Frozen after Remy.
That’s what this website has on the crowd calendar! I sure hope it is accurate. The weekend will be busier but if we can have one or two days of lower crowds, I am excited.
Are you planning to stay late? You may have better luck trying to snag a Frozen during the day or just waiting until lines drop at night. Or just skip it if you never make it there.
I fear that riding FEA right after Remy before the end of EE will indeed be your best move for shortest wait without a LL.
I agree it’s not an ideal way to start your day - when you could be taking a more leisurely stroll through World Showcase instead. But you won’t get lower wait times later in the day.
If you don’t mind riding in separate vehicles you could get a LL for Frozen and ride TT with the single rider lane (which usually moves fast due to the 3-and-3 seating configuration of the cars).
Another idea that might work on a CL3 day is to RD Remy and then head to Soarin. By the time you tap into your LL there, you could potentially still find FEA evening times available - I’ve managed this in the past, but it’s a risk. Maybe check Thrill Data LL availability charts for CL3 days to see when they have been running out of FEA in recent weeks?
It ultimately depends on how sad you’d be to miss FEA. If it’s not a priority, then I wouldn’t stress (and just see how you’re feeling later in the day and whether you’re willing to wait a bit for it - on a CL3 day, you might get some doable wait times at some point).
My planning skills are being challenged with the addition of a guest to our usual part of 3! Thrilled to have her with us, but at the same time, it is hard to get everyone’s priorities included. I think she really wants to do FEA. The rest of us don’t really care, although we enjoy it. So, I guess I would feel bad if we ended up having to skip it. And actually, these days do they let you walk around world showcase at 9am, or do they make you go down through England and across if trying to get from Remy to Frozen?
I guess ultimately I will explain the situation to them, and they can decide if they want to hoof it over there after Remy. My son does love schoolbread, so that would be a breakfast reward I suppose!
One more thing…if they decide that they are willing to skip Remy (also not a top priority usually) and head right to Frozen for early hours 1st ride of the day, do you think that would work from the back gate? Again, which way to get there? Thanks so much! I am feeling really rusty on everything despite having visited a year ago. This is a last minute trip so I haven’t been immersing myself like I usually do!
With adult only trips, we always prebook Frozen LL, grab TT LL at a drop or do single rider, and do Remy single rider. I have a one day girls trip at end of April (on a Thursday), and actually are attempting Epcot with no LLMP, only the LLSP for Guardians. It will be first time in forever I do reg standby for Frozen (maybe if the margs in Mexico don’t call my instead)
Ha ha I see what you did there! This would be totally doable without the girlfriend joining us. Since they are attached at the hip I don’t want to force the single rider situation on them! Young love. But, maybe I should LL Frozen and have Remy be the one that falls off. Enjoy your trip!
Yes, all of WS is open for strolling during EE, though most of the shops and restaurants won’t open until regular park open 30 min later.
Yes, you can successfully rope drop FEA from either the front or the back of the park - unless something has changed, they will hold you somewhere near/at Canada, and then release that RD crowd at the same time as the crowd at the front of the park. Some days one group has a slight lead, but if you are walking with purpose, there’s still quite a walk from the place where the groups meet at World Showcase, and you’ll be in a good position by the time you get to Norway. If you’re a fast walker, it’ll be a walk on - but even if you’re slower, on a CL3 day, I’d be surprised if you had to wait more than 20 min.
If TT is a “must-do” and FEA is more of a “I’d like to do”, then I would book TT for my LL. If TT goes down at some point, the drops may not happen and I wouldn’t want to miss out on “must-do”.
What we have done. RD Remy from the International Gateway. Then stroll at leisure around the back way to Frozen. Then stand in line for an hour. Not a popular plan, but it works for us.
We have also watched the France movie and grabbed pastries right after Remy, before making that slow stroll.
Very good advice here. Something a little outside the box just in case…
I don’t think you’ll have issues getting SE later (have not checked Thrill Data to be sure). You could select a burner LL at 9 am instead to let you book FEA immediately, and pick up SE later?
You would have to detour, probably to Pixar shorts? I wonder if you could send a runner to tap in - they’d probably look at you funny.
(This is assuming you’re not planning to use the TT LL first thing.)
I have actually done exactly this at Pixar shorts, right at the end of early entry - the CM was just taking the cover off the tap as I approached (with no other human being around that early). I said good morning and then semi-apologetically motioned to my phone to say “I actually just need to tap in…” and he smiled and said “Do what you gotta do!”
They seem used to it
I’ve never tried to have one person do multiple taps (or seen anyone else do it), but I suspect most CM would graciously allow it.
I concur. Rope drop Remy and then speed walk to FEA. I’ve been successful with this several times. Be at the IG no later than 7:45, 8:00 at the very latest.
Great. I think I will just propose this to my son and gf. Want to ride Remy and FEA? This needs to be the plan. Just FEA? Skip Remy and go there first at early hours rope drop. Don’t care about either? Have a leisurely day that doesn’t require getting there super early and utilizing early 30 minutes. They can decide if it is worth it to them. Thanks! My son doesn’t land until 10pm the night before, so I have no idea how smoothly things will go if we try to get out the door at 7:30am. And I don’t want to be the driving force on such things. Being able to lay out this clear option for them in advance is super helpful.
Tomorrow is my LL booking day so I am getting my ducks in a row. Epcot, May 7, Crowd Level 3.
My son confirmed he wants to get to Epcot early (early entry.)
I have been watching the wait times and LL return times, and it looks like pretty consistently Frozen has been available for a bit in the 9am-9:30am time frame. (Today, CL 4, Frozen still available at 9:43am.) The LL plan is to focus on TT for Tier 1, Soarin’ and then another. I am debating the 2 strategies below. Advice is welcomed, as I have never really tried the “burner” strategy.
To summarize, trying to fit Frozen and Remy into our day if possible. Remy is secondary.
arrive international gateway, ride soarin’ at 8:30 and tap in/ride LWTL at 9 so we can grab Frozen. (We love LWTL anyway.) If we ride Soarin first thing, we should be able to tap right at 9, or close to it, right? Then, we can try to ride Remy at some point with a 30 min wait, or do single rider line if no other option.
Arrive international gateway. Ride Remy at 8:30, then hustle to tap in somewhere at 9am to be able to grab Frozen LL. What is easiest? Figment? (we also like Figment and would ride it.) My concern with this plan is we may not be done with Remy in time, and it also feels like we would have to race to do it.
The 3rd option as discussed in the above thread is to do Remy and then hustle to Frozen and ride with 30 min wait. This is less desireable since I am seeing Frozen LLs available.
I also notice that Remy is down quite a bit first thing, so I hesitate to build my morning plan around it, especially since it isn’t a favorite. That said, it does allow us to best utilize the international gateway.
