I am a long time WDW visitor but this is the first visit to DLR in 35 years. I understand that I can book dining 60 days in advance. But can I book 60 days PLUS the 4 days I have tickets for? Or do I have to get up early 4 days in a row to book dining?

For DLR there is no length-of-stay booking. You just book whenever ADRs are filled up, which is usually 60 days before, but sometimes lags for certain restaurants, so you have to keep checking.
There are certain restaurants where you need to book timely but others that aren’t hard. I would try finding a reservation for the same time you are looking for in the days / weeks leading up to your 60-day mark to get a sense for which ones you need to prioritize. Definitely book Blue Bayou asap.

Is Pirates open again yet?
Blue Bayou was open in June but the bayou part of the ride was completely blocked off from view from inside the restaurant.

Blue bayou is one we want for sure. We ate there 35 years ago for our 10th anniversary. And want to go again for our 45th anniversary.
I plan on calling at 6:00:00 sixty days in advance. Any other hints to snag that reservation? Is it better to call, use iPhone or desktop computer? Is Disney web site the only way to reserve?

I have always done my reservations on the Disneyland App. It’s very similar to the WDW MDE app and is pretty easy to figure out. I have never woken up at 6am and have generally been able to get what I want, but if you want a popular time it is probably a good idea to be on time.
The only exception is Din Tai Fung (which I totally recommend!) in Downtown Disney. That one you have to reserve through their website (which I think is powered through Yelp or Open Table or something like that) and is only 30 days in advance.

You have 60 day out when you can start your booking. They open up on the WDW site at 0600 Eastern Standard time, Now at that time you will see the first 10 days now available to book. Some restaurants like Ohana’s may be tuff to book early on in the first days of the 10 but no problem close to the end of the ten. Now I book a 14 night vacation so for the next 4 days after the initial 10, I must book on a daily basis. Rarely is it hard to get what you want on those last 4 days so you need not get up early like the first 10. Some places will be extremely hard to book no matter what time you tried to book them , such as Cinderella’s Royal table. Signature restaurants are also somewhat difficult depending on the restaurant. Hope this helps.
And, I think that reservations for Din Tai Fung open at midnight at 30 days. For a date that I wanted, when I got online at 5 a.m., 30 days out, everything was gone (except I think 9:45 a.m.) . I kept checking and nothing opened up.

I am glad you asked this question! I’m going to DLR for the first time. When y’all say 6am, just confirming you are talking about 6am Pacific time?

Most resort guests can make ADR reservations 60 days out. If your not staying at a resort I believe you only get 30 days out to make your reservations. By that time most of the restaurants that are popular are gone. Keep this in mind though. Reservations can be canceled up to 2 hours out from a reservation. Many people as well as myself book multiple reservation at different restaurants and on the day of I will cancel said reservation and keep only one if that. Keep checking especially close to the time and date you are looking for. You will find many appear out of nowhere and if your lucky enough to see it as it comes up, grab it!
ADR reservations 60 and 30 days out start at 0600 EST. 0500 CST, 0400 Rocky mountain standard time, and 0300PST.

I am 60 days out from my DL day and was SO CLOSE to completing a reservation at Blue Bayou. I started in the app at exactly 6am. Chose a time but as I was entering my phone number to confirm, a message popped up about the app “having trouble” processing. It closed the page and I had to start over. At 6:02 PT all the Blue Bayou reservations were gone. Excuse my language, but wtf!? Should I try calling guest relations when they open in an hour?

I’ve been hearing about glitches with the app this week. Sorry this happened to you. I’m not sure calling will help. Blue Bayou does have a walk up option. I’ve never used it but know others have had success getting in using it. Also, keep checking, times randomly show up as people cancel, especially closer to the date you want.

I would double check to make sure the ADR inventory actually dropped at 6:00am. It doesn’t always. What you might have seen is not that ADRs were gone, but that they hadn’t dropped at all. The easiest way to tell this is to search for times for the day before you were looking and see if comparable times are available.
Keep checking throughout day 60 and even beyond! Availability often pops up.
I also agree you should try for walk-up if all else fails. You may have to wait a while, and be flexible cause you only have I think 10 or 15 minutes to return to the table once you’re called, so you really need to wait in the area (and it may be less than they initially tell you, so you can’t bank on having that time to do a ride or whatever unless it’s close by and the wait is short).

Thank you both so much. The times definitely dropped on time because there were options at 6am and I chose a time. I was almost confirmed when it glitched! I’ll try walk-in. Is that Mickey Dining service worth trying? What’s it called?

There are various services that will scan for ADR availability for you. I haven’t tried any of them but if you search online and find good feedback it seems like it could be worthwhile.
