It’s 4:48am. I’m normally at work. Went to sleep before midnight so, of course I’m awake now.
I’m watching women airbrush their faces.
I used to paint pictures with an airbrush.

Yes!! I’ve been cupping my hand behind my ear and leaning in bc I can’t understand anyone!! Leaning in kinda defeats the purpose but I seriously cannot understand most ppl including my own family

I was ready for AK. AK apparently was not ready for anyone.
Chilly morning.
Things tend to hibernate.
And by things, I mean buses and animals and rides - oh my.
Got to the bus depot at 8am.
I was quite proud of myself.
A small group had already gathered. I should say huddled together. The wind was unmercifully throwing arctic blasts at us.
I moved to the sun about 50’ away.
Bus 1, nope
Bus 2 nope.
I’m beginning to rethink this early bird - RD thing.
25 minutes later, nope!
I mean the only 2 parks open were MK & AK.
We can walk to MK.
FINALLY, 2 buses for AK 8:34am
Arrived at the park around 8:53 am.
Slow clap.
I wanted to follow my TP. Except that I didn’t intend to be at the park at 9am.
Dino first. Done. Now what?
KS was next but I figured the animals weren’t out yet because they are smarter than us.
EE. Let’s do EE.
Nope
Yeti was hibernating. I thought it liked the cold?

KS it is. I didn’t expect much. I turned in my time which wasn’t long at all.
And everyone showed up for the party.
The kudu, the zebras, the giraffessesss, lots of them. Even the Hippos were out of the water.
Hello lions, cheetahs and wart hogs. Guess who didn’t show up?
The monkeys.
Someone needs to knit them some sweaters.

Same thing yesterday, too cold for lions, gorillas and monkeys. WTH, why do they have so much fur if they can’t handle a bit of chill, or as Floridians call it arctic.

I can’t argue with that even if it is 10:30 am.

The park was still somewhat empty in places. No problem getting my steps in today folks.
No problem getting my meal.
No problem getting my seat by the water.
As soon as I sat down, there was a problem.
Those funky sorry-looking pitiful storks showed up. They must sit around like your favorite local police officer just waiting for you to swing by with the illegal substances. (So I’ve heard)
And the waaaayy they look at you is creepy.
So much for enjoying my meal alone.
At least it was fantastic.
No problem with Pulled Pork Mac & Cheese.
While I was sitting there I heard a familiar roar.
Could it be?
Yes I saw that it was.
The beast had awakened.
‘Bout time.
So I nearly choked on what was left of my food & walked to the entrance of EE.
And walked on.
And on.
And on.
Finally finding the end of the line in front of Nemo theater. No problem.
When the going gets tough, the tough stand in socially distanced, long lines.
After playing hide & seek around all the twists into and around the buildings that made up the queue, I was on my backwards running Yeti hunt in half the time that was posted.
First seat of the whole train. 1 is the magic number not 3. (Some of you will get that)
I nearly lost my glasses. Tears streamed down my face. Mostly from the cold air blasting it. Mostly.
So far, I’ve done very well.
Now is when I’ve got to go rogue.

We found the wait from Finding Nemo was only 10 minutes or so unless we hit a cleaning cycle!
Sounds amazing! I LOVE EE. It is my fave coaster anywhere, I think.

There are 3 items left on my Lines.
Nomad Lounge, Flights of Passage, & Na’vi River Journey.
NL wasn’t supposed to happen for another hour.
I’m not hungry yet. This is something that I don’t say often.
I look at the waitlist time - 25 minutes.

I’m a virgin, a newb, a greenie beenie weenie.
Usually the lines are no joke for this one. I refuse to spend 2 hours standing in line.
A 50 min posted wait turns out to be, drum roll please…
30 min. The line moved as fast as a banshee.
This ride was very cool. It tickled. In places that weren’t right. I don’t recall anyone posting this info. And I thought Vegas kept secrets!
I’d debate the 2 hour waiting worth. But it is an awesome ride.
Na’vi on the other hand moved at a snails pace. Ok maybe not quite but close. 50 min. felt like 50 min. I think I waited 35 or 40.
This ride is ok. A good ‘break’.
Now it’s 2pm. Checking NL waitlist.
Oh no.
This can’t be right.
‘Waitlist is at capacity’ showing 50 min wait.
Everything at AK is a 50 min wait.
Ak has found the key to magic.
50 min. Waits. Then everyone is so happy to have only waited 10, 20, or 30 min.
MAGIC
So finally after 10 minutes I can sign in on the waitlist for Nomad Lounge.
50 min wait.
“Do you prefer a text…”
and in 40 min. DING! Your table is ready please check in… yeah yeah we get it.
I need a drink.
Ladies & Gentlemen this is the way to end a day at AK.
I will accept no arguments.
They gave me ‘a couch’!
A genuine, Bon-e-fied , sink your back side down couch.
Who cares if I have to eat like a dog hovered over it’s bowl.
A couch is the perfect period to this sentence. The ONLY thing better? A recliner.
Someone get on that.
I ate, I drank, I watched characters & the jolly fat man glide by on pontoons. All from the comfort of MY couch.
