I’ve tried and tried to find the answers to these questions, but have failed so far. We’re visiting Disneyland starting July 12. I’m trying to figure out how navigate the parks with three kids (ages 11, 9, and 9). When we went to DisneyWorld, I kept the park tickets on the DisneyWorld app on my phone and made lightning lanes reservations through my account. DisneyLand appears to be set up differently. Here are my three primary questions:
Managing park tickets - our daughters are doing a dance performance, so all of our arrangements have been made through that organization. they send us paper copies of the 4-day park hopper tickets. I scanned mine and linked it to my account so I can view it on the Disneyland app on my phone. How can I do something similar for the kids. I tried, but they appear to be too young to [legally] create their own Disneyland accounts. I can’t manage them as family members like on the DisneyWorld app (as far as I can tell). Anything I can do to avoid carrying around paper tickets?
Magic Bands - I already have magic bands for everyone. To what do I link the kids’ magic bands if I can’t set up accounts for them?
Genie+/Lightning Lanes - I understand how Genie+ works (until July 24), but how do I make lightning lane reservations for the kids?

At Disneyland you can link all their tickets to your Disney account just like you linked your own. I have passes for all 4 of my kids (and DH) linked to my account. And he has all 4 of the kids linked to his as well. It’s less cohesive than WDW system of linking friends & family but in the end has the same result that you’ll see them in your account. You’ll see their tickets under Tickets & Passes like yours and can scroll through them. Then for Magic Bands you’ll first link the Magic Band to your account, then then assign each band to the correct admission (from the valid linked tickets you have available). And then for Genie+ you should be able to see a list of “Party Members” made of all the individuals with linked admission to your account & you can check/uncheck each person (there may also be a “Select all” option too).

Also, just want to add that for DL only MagicBand+ will work. So just in case your magic bands are an older version from a previous WDW trip. DL only got the Magic Band technology recently with the rollout of MagicBand+

Thank you! Super helpful. I appreciate it.
On last random question: We’re staying at the Grand Californian - do the MagicBand+ work as room keys?

You’re very welcome! Unfortunately, MagicBand+'s don’t work as room keys and can’t be used to charge to the room either. Right now they only work for entry & LL admission plus some interactions with rides/shows.

Can a single family member with a MB+ tap in for the entire party of 5? I’m wondering if buying one MB+ might make out lives easier than needing to use our phones constantly.
No. A MagicBand+ is assigned to one person, and can be used for admission or tapping into rides for one person.
