My husband walks past me at my desk and asks the same thing, but before I can answer always says, “never mind, you are looking up Disney. I should have know.”
Ha yes!! When discussing ADRs I ask my DD5 what she would want to go back to—- the place with cars we sat in! Our meal was a disaster there with a 5 and 2 year old but i guess we pulled it off okay if it’s still her favorite.
Looked at what I could book as a 6th fastpass for the day, and almost booked it just because…while sitting at MCO after trip was over.
Just think, what if it had converted to anytime… “Well I can’t waste it… looks like we’re staying another night!”
I searched the forum and I still don’t know what a shenkel list is, though it seems to have something to do with Lines and things that are new to you?
A listing of all your old coins.
No, wait. That’s a shekel list.
When your 13 year old asks you to stop going to “anywhere Disney” because he wants a car at 16 and is seriously concerned about your Disney addiction affecting said car…
He sounds very pragmatic…but clearly has his priorities out of whack. ![]()
I completely agree! I am trying to model the correct priorities, but it just isn’t sinking in!
Yes, it is a list of things you have not done before (bucket list).
Cool. I’m starting to follow chat in Lines, now that we’re less than a month out from our trip, and hope to see some examples.
Totally get this. DD14 already said no to another Disney vacation for awhile, worried she won’t be able to go to college. What’s wrong with these kids these days?
Well…my kids pay their own way through college, so that’s not an issue for us. Generally, we are also opposed to debt, including student loans. My oldest son DID require a student loan for part of one semester, but it was paid off entirely within a few months of graduating. Based on current budgeting, my second son should graduate from college with a surplus of about $3000. My third son is about to start his senior year of high school and will have enough saved to pay for his first year of college by Christmas.
So, yeah. Disney trips are not a roadblock for college! ![]()
Tell him to get a job and start saving!!
I am worried about getting murdered, because when the police check my browser history everything ever is Disney and comic book related.

Google definitely already has my number.
He would love that! Unfortunately not too many places around here are willing to hire a 13 year old.
I get why states have enacted child labor laws, putting limits on the ages of children being able to work…but it is annoying that it impacts even those kids who WANT to work. I started working at 12 (paper route), and then started at Little Caesars at 14. Today, hardly a place will consider you until you’re 16.
But, we do know a few enterprising young individuals who got around it. One started up his own lawn mowing business. Another girl we know started making and selling jewelry at local art festivals, etc.
My DS cut grass and washed cars in the neighborhood. My DD baby sat and washed cars. That was their spending money. They had to budget for their wants, made money through chores/ jobs, I took care of their needs, including going to Disney😁
You might be a liner if…you have no trips scheduled or being planned and you continue to check this site for up-to-date information and general knowledge. Because, you know, a trip can happen at any minute.
