Oooooh yeah - I’m starting this one!
I’m having L5-S1 disc replacement surgery in a few weeks which puts next W&D roughly a year after surgery. I should be cleared to run 6-months post-op, so the question is - can I train for and complete the 2-course challenge in 6 months? Damn right I can!
And it will coincide with my 40th birthday. So I’m pulling that card if I have to with DW.
So, who wants to bet on the date of the half? Nov 2nd would put the 5k on Halloween night which could make for a cool theme. But also a bit “busy” on the schedule maybe? I’m betting the half will be Nov 9th, which would be the night before my birthday. So, Epcot after party till midnight then shots for my 40th?!?!?

I think I read that they will not do a race ON Halloween (where the heck did I read that) and so that when it would fall that way it pushes out to the next weekend.

Yeah I’m pretty sure too, but I dug into the interwebs earlier today and didn’t find anything concrete. And they could always change their mind and try something new. Not like they do that routinely or anything…

What time does registration open for Run Disney races?
Themes are out! I’m not quite sure I understand how the teaser graphic aligns with what they ended up with but I’m excited!
My family is going to run the 10k, but won’t do the half. I’m contemplating doing both. I’ve done a 10k at Disney, and a half at Disney, but never back to back.
Also since the party is the night of the half, is that too exhausting?

My DW told me that one of her coworkers tried to register for W&D and said it was all sold out. I had to tell her that registration opened up 2 weeks ago. That ship has long since sailed. 
She might get lucky with a random opening, but those come and go real quick.

It always makes me so sad for people when they pop into FB groups to ask "when is registration for… " and it has passed or when they pop in to say “I see … is already sold out but registration was just a few days ago. Is that accurate?”

I have not been on here much at all the last few months. Coming back to this thread with mixed emotions… I won’t be able to do runDisney this upcoming season, BUT yesterday I was cleared by my spine surgeon to run again. Friday will be my first run in 3-4 months (can’t remember exactly). SOOOOOOOO PUMPED!
