DH and DD have registered for their 1st ever Run Disney event (Wine and Dine 2026 - 5K). Lots of questions. What is your favorite place to stay for the event (not using DVC points)?

Any Disney resort is fine for a race weekend as they all have transportation to and from races and expo. Some do it better than others.
I like Pop for a race weekend. One bus stop and the resort does a great job “celebrating” it’s runners. Plus it has the Skyliner (not that it matters for races).
I’ve done Caribbean Beach for marathon weekend once and I was at a bus stop one morning and 4 full buses passed us by before they sent an empty one directly to our stop. So, having a single bus stop is a benefit.

Is there maybe another thread where people are talking about this race? DH and DD are registered (first-timers), but I don’t see too much discussion about it on this forum. Maybe there is nothing to discuss? 
I expect registered runners have received the email with the new race start system. I wondered how they were going to manage the increased numbers and now we know. It’s smart- I think? we’ll see! - runDisney created basically 3 5K races. The first will start, and the course will mostly clear. The second will be held till the course mostly clears, then go! The third will be held till the second race cohort clears, then it goes.
I was thinking they might reverse the route: go through Epcot first then have runners do the Mile-of-Parking-Lot-Torture last. Apparently not!
So, runners in this 5k get to be test subjects

Favorite spot has been the Cabins at Fort Wilderness! Free transportation. Good internal shuttle service! And having a good handle on my pre-race dinner, breakfast, and most importantly my water. Because if you know you know!

Got it! We always buy gallons of drinking water when we visit with our grocery order.
You mean you guys don’t like water that tastes like bad eggs? Jeez.
