Will Rise of Resistance have a single rider line?

Will Rise of Resistance have a single rider line?

I don’t think anyone knows 100% for sure, but the below article says there are clues it will have a single rider line, but that it (and FP) likely won’t be available right away.

The ride vehicles are similar to other rides that have single rider option. There’s lots of other info at the link if you’re interested.

Thanks for all the great info. Just trying to figure out a way to avoid an 80-min wait. The touringplans computer says even first thing in the morning is a 60-70 min wait and advises we go later in the day. We’ll be at DHS on 04 Feb 2020.

A mere 80 minute ride wait will be lucky!

Those are really wild guesses at this point. Until it’s been open a bit, they can’t give you a good guess.

That’s what I’m thinking too. I suppose we are all speculating at this point, but my guess is that in february lines will typically be 120+ mins.

New update!

Disney Food Blog is reporting that they are testing out a Single Rider line for ROTR. Here’s the catch, you skip all parts of the pre-show including the storm trooper room. You go straight to the loading area.

Would you use Single Rider and skip all of the preshow if it saved you significant time? (For a more nuanced question see:Will Rise of Resistance have a single rider line? - #26 by heathernoel)

How short would the wait have to be in order for you to be willing to skip the pre-show (up to 2 votes allowed)

  • Under 10 minutes
  • Under 15 minutes
  • 15-25 minutes
  • 25-40 minutes

Absolutely yes! I barely ride it as it is and have seen those preshows lots.

I love the transport shuttle - the Admiral Ackbar animatronic is one of my absolute favorites. And the big hanger with the storm troopers  But for a wait the equivalent of Millennium Falcon SR, I would skip those. And probably ride it several times.

I would not like skipping 2/3 of the experience. The escape is only a small part of it. Cheapens it to where for me it would not be worth it. I’d rather skip riding than not have the whole thing.

Which makes me ask: if you skip those things because a part of the ride is down, you don’t get disappointed? Or does your wait time (or $$ spent) factor in?

To your point - I think one of the best parts of ROTR is that the “pre-show” is actually part of the story line. Like if someone did a poll - would you be willing to skip the pre-show on FOP if it meant a shorter wait - the answer would be “please, please, please, yes!” I would rather wait in a regular queue than in the linking room. Where as here, I have to think about it.

My answer is “yes” because I really like the escape part of it too. Because of the $$ and wait we often skip the whole thing. For me it is almost two separate experiences and I enjoy both. But this way, I am only skipping one of the experiences, not both.

To your last question - if I waited for a long time, or paid for the ride, I would be disappointed to skip those things. But if I waited under 15 minutes and had to skip them (and was with people who had ridden before) I would be way less fazed.

I would rather pay the $25 to have the entire experience vs. single rider line if skipping. That said, if I rode it once using ILL or standby and then wanted to repeat just the escape, the SR line would be a nice option.

So you are telling me I should have had the option of “other”? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Hey, I still voted, even though the options didn’t fit my circumstances perfectly. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I wouldn’t bother if I were to miss the first part of the experience. It is an experience, not just a ride.

Does this mean you skip the holding cell? Or is the holding cell where they fill in single riders? Seems like they would have to, because once they break you out, it is go go go…not sure that is the time they could make a decision on if there is room for a single riser.

The article says right before boarding the vehicle. I would hazard a guess that they are wrong and it is as you line up on your spots before the holding cells. There is is also a public doorway right near there that I have been evacuated through, so seems a coinvent place to bring in single riders.

Further research - many of the blogs that didn’t experience this say a CM says “right before you board the vehicle”.

WDWNT rode it themselves and said, “By using the single rider option, we were able to enter the line and arrive outside of our jail cell in just five minutes.”

Oooh - they also say they went straight to the Star Destroyer Hanger and were then directed to the left lane in the next hallway, which was being used as a dedicated single rider line.

Maybe they are trying different approaches?

Here’s another post describing it, complete with lots of photos about where you go and what you see, including some very unthemed, immersion breaking areas.

“In the Star Destroyer hangar, you’ll wait until a Cast Member instructs you to walk to the opposite side of the room and enter the queue on the left side of the next hallway, which is now reserved for Single Riders. Before the Single Rider test, Disney used either side of the queue to sort even-numbered or odd-numbered parties, presumably to increase efficiency and throughput for the attraction.”

All the reports I saw said entry at the hangar.

This could still mean they were let into the hangar but made it to the jail cell in 5 minutes from originally entering the line?
