August 11th is a party day and the crowd level is a 6, meanwhile August 15th is not a party day and the crowd level is a 2.
Why is 11th not lower since the general consensus is that day crowds are lower on party days?
We are getting to AKL late on the 10th, and trying to decide which park is best to visit the following day since we won’t be rope dropping after a 10 hour trip.
I wonder if the 11th is still in that range before school starts back up, but 15th is right before they go back so families are going home to get ready?
I also think that those crowd levels may be adjusted. MNSSHP dates were just announced and tickets haven’t even gone on sale. TP hasn’t been able to make any adjustments based on those dates.
@Len can you send out a post or Blog when it’s done? I have the same question. We are attending 8/11 and would like to see the impact of the Party on other Parks during our stay. 8/8-14.
It’s May and of course I am already planning Park days. Ha!
In the meantime, the historical crowd levels give some guidance. August MNSSHP days in 2025 and 2024 tended to have MK crowd levels of 1-2, with non-party-day crowd levels a bit higher (3-5).
I’d be very surprised if AH affected crowd levels as opening hours do not change for regular guests contrary to the parties. EE could affect crowds as deluxe guests might go to the parks that offer those.
I should have a crowd cal update out this week. Last week was DD28’s bday and I didn’t get as much done as expected. Also, those kids can EAT SOME FOOD. It was fascinating to watch. Like bears at a salmon run.
So I’m coming back to this because the crowd calendar was updated for the 11th of August, but it’s still a 6 for MK. I’m torn between keeping 11th as our MK day 1 (we have planned for 2 days for each park) or moving it to 12th which has EH for MK.
