If you remember, what were the lines like for SDD, TSM and MMRR? We were thinking about getting LLPP for HS this year, but Jollywood would be a bit cheaper and then my kids could potentially get multiple rides on their favorites instead of one depending on the lines.
My kids won’t care much about the entertainment or special food offerings so it would be primarily for shorter ride lines vs regular park hours.
I did! And apparently I took a screenshot because I couldn’t believe wait times were so low! Rise of the resistance was down most of the party (I remember being relieved that we had ridden it earlier). These were the longest times!
We went…but really did not focus on rides at all, so I can’t help you there.
I don’t know if your kids care or not, but there are also several character meets which you don’t usually see other times of the year. Personally, we don’t care two hoots, but some do! Having said that, one of the more entertaining moments of the night for us was the “dance party” with Goofy and Pluto. I even got into the action a little bit.
My kids would likely enjoy seeing the latter for some laughs
They do like rare character meets, but the lines are typically so long for rare character meets in general that they often choose to skip those for more rides.
I’ve been twice! I only focus on the rides. It’s amazing! There’s really no wait, except for preshows. (I did get the CM at MFSR to let me skip it as I was truly the only guest at the entire ride!)
RotR closes early, so make sure you get to it as early as possible!
This is totally true. I tried to meet Pinocchio or Jiminy Cricket, but after 30 minutes I hadn’t even moved halfway through the queue. People do entire “photo shoots" and take a long time. The line for Duffy was insane! I can’t justify spending sll that money to attend the event just to meet 4 - 5 characters and no rides.
We did but we focused on event things. My “kids” (they’re young adult kids) rode rides tho and they just rode ToT over and over and RnRc etc. very short lines.
I was there! The wait times were fabulous! With the exception of SDD, the wait times were less than 15 minutes. Using the extra 2 hours before the party began, I had time to do nearly all rides twice. I think I only went on ASS once. I had time to do the shows and other party things, too. If you only do rides, you should be able to ride many of them on repeat. SDD and RISE are the exceptions. RISE wasn’t long but it takes so long to walk the queue and do the pre shows!
thanks for posting your recap! I have a surprise trip planned and hoping to do Jollywood for the first time with the family! It will be our only HS for that trip so we will do a bunch of rides and then hit the Christmas special activities. We probably won’t do any character meet and greets unless we see a really short line.
I did the RD for the event and always manged to ride everything, except SDD each night. I did see Muppets and JBJB fireworks. If I had wanted to see a second show I could’ve. I just repeated rides and ate. Food lines will go down after 9pm
My DS15 and I actually went twice last year (and loved it). As expected, waits went down as the night went on. On average:
SDD was longest at about 35-40 mins.
TSMM was about 15 mins (kept going down/pausing though, both nights)
MMRR was about 10 mins
Walk on to RotR and MFSR
SDD and RnR were the longest lines. With the new Muppets RnR, I’m assuming that wait will be long(er) and may take on a lot of the crowd which may lessen some times on the other rides.
ToT was either walk on or about 10-15 mins.
The dance parties and M&G areas were fun to walk by and see. We focused on rides as well, although did get hungry later and got a quick pretzel and beer cheese dip at one of the special menu bars.
