I know Tron isn’t open for early entry. What is recommended? I am going on a park level 2 day so less busy. I have early entry so can go at 9am but if everyone is lined up not sure that is the best use of time? Is it worth the money to just pay for a ILL? Not worth it? Any thoughts?
IMO it’s worth it to get the LLSP and then use your first hour at the park to hit some mid tier rides with lower waits - JC, SM, PotC, maybe PP …
But if you are going to head there for regular hours RD, it shouldn’t be horrible, though it usually slows down a tad at like 10am after a morning rush. Otherwise, try to ride when it is about 35 min wait. This happens occasionally throughout the day and is a reasonable amount of time given the queue.
I pulled this set of attractions from another recent Topic where the OP was asking if it was better to hit the top tier rides first. Below is a side by side comparison of an optimized plan (left) vs an evaluated plan that forces top tier attractions first (right). Both plans begin at regular park open (i.e. no early entry) and both plans use the same list of attractions.
Compare the totals, in particular the In Line (total time waiting in lines) for each plan. FYI … if you were to add Tron to this plan, the optimizer would push it out towards mid-day.
Ooh - ooh- I know this! We were at MK on 19th October (which was a 4) and using EE at 07:30 (with official park opening at 8:00) we rode Tron 7th. Here’s what we did up to that point.
Persuading the kids to ride the people mover first was a challenge, but sure enough, the posted wait dropped from 40 to 30 at about 8:55 and we were in line at 09:05 and on the ride at 09:30
There is a dip in the wait time at Tron every morning about 50 - 60 mins after official park opening, so if I were you I’d head over there at 9:50.
I’d agree with @j_Hardie. On a low crowd day there is no need for LLSP (personally never would anyway but each to their own) and I’d do the other headliners first. Get Tron in its mid-morning dip. Seen a few You Tubers do this very strategy and it’s fine. We did it on a party day late August. Worked a treat.
Not long after Tron first opened, we wanted to ensure we got a chance to ride it. This was when Tron was on a VQ. I was fairly confident we could get a VQ, but just in case, I paid for LLSP. Ended up getting back-to-back rides, because my VQ time overlapped my LLSP time. The “unfortunate” thing was that the LLSP was first, so we rode it once without a wait, and then the second time we had a wait. I had wished it were the reverse because while the ride is enjoyable, after having just ridden it, and given how short it was, the wait to ride it the second time was now more or less annoying. If it had been the reverse, the wait wouldn’t really have bothered us, because it was building anticipation for the ride.
Now that we have ridden it, I wouldn’t likely pay for LLSP again for it. Since it is no longer VQ, it is always possible to just wait for it. Having said that, if you have NEVER ridden it, then paying for LLSP for it MIGHT be worth it just to guarantee you can get it in on a park day (depending on how your park days line up).
I think I’ve been on it a total of 4 times now, and while enjoyable, honestly isn’t really worth a terribly long wait once you have experienced it once.
