When is the best time (for shortest line) to ride GotG if you are in first group of BGs called?

Is the Boarding Group line expected to be the shortest if you head to GotG at 9:00 am when regular guest entry starts?

Or is there an initial rush and it is better to get to GotG later in the morning?

Can’t speak to GOTG, but for Tiana’s, we went very quickly after the BGs started (we had BG1), and we entered the line almost exactly where LL merged. By the time we got off, the line for VQ had completely filled up the outside queue. So I would extrapolate the sooner the better, even for GOTG. But hopefully someone has first hand experience with Guardians itself.

The earlier you go the shorter the wait.

The shortest wait is right at the start. Since they let everyone ride at anytime after their BG is called, the later lines can have more and more people eligible to join it. It never gets as short as the start of the day.

First 30 minutes is always best.

Definitely best to go right at 9:00! We got to the line a few minutes before 9:00 and we were pretty much the first ones on the ride! When we went later in the day, it was more like a 30-40 minute wait.

Another vote for when the park opens!

I had BG1 yesterday on a CL7 day at Epcot and still walked into the pre-show around 9.20 (on an 9am opening day - my group was actually called at 8.4am). Agree the earlier the better.

Any time later in the day (except maybe the last 30 min of park time) I would budget 30-40 min queuing - and be happy if it’s less than that if you hit a lull in boarding groups.

About what time did you get in the GotG line?

Looking at my photos, I can see I got off Soarin around 9.10 and then walked over to Guardians (so I am guessing I got in line around 9.20). My ride photo is time stamped 9.41, which means walking the Guardians queue (I walked right up to the first one a couple of minutes before it started), watching the two pre shows, and queuing for load took around 20 min total.

If you are onsite, you can also usually ride during EE. So I RD Soarin and get in line for GOTG before everyone else is let in. I have never wait foe more than one pre-show cycle this way.

Or you can go very first thing and have half a car to yourself!

We are … but getting DD9 and DS7 out of bed in the morning is always a challenge. They are both night people, not morning people. They love staying at the parks until close, but prefer to sleep in. I’m going to try to get us to EP by 8:45 am so we can at least enter through the EE area (and avoid the longer 9:00 am regular RD line) and then head right over to GotG. I will book a Nemo LL for as close as to 9:00 am as possible so after GotG, we can tap in to Nemo and open up the LL Tiers.

I am notorious for getting to EE with about 10 mins left. So I checked my time stamps.

This one was 8:56 (9:00 regular open)

And this was at 9:05:

I think you’ll be good!
