When does Lightening return times expire

using the new LLMP system how long after offcial end time will you be admitted to the line? I have heard it is up to 2 hours. For examle if your return time is 1 to 2PM you will be let on the ride up to 4 PM

UNofficially it’s 119 minutes - one minute less than 2 hrs

Thank you. I have also heard your pass is released after one hour after your return time.

It expires one when your window ends. However, (and again UNOFFICIALLY) many Liners have had success being able to scan through up to 59 minutes after that. It’s never a guarantee and not something one should plan on, ESPECIALLY for an attraction that is mission-critical. But it seems to be fairly much the norm.

The 119 minutes is the known “green taps” time.

One thing to note – after expiry, and even after 119 minutes, the LL doesn’t completely disappear. A CM will always be able to see what you had if they look in their history. They have discretion to override blue taps if they are so inclined. And GS can always “reactivate” it for you or give you an MEP in their discretion, if you have a sufficiently sympathetic story to tell.

Also note that immediately after the original 1-hour return window expires, you can no longer modify the LL. You can, however, continue to cancel it and rebook the attraction, if there is availability for later. (IIRC, you can continue to cancel / rebook longer than 119 minutes.)

This is good to know. So if the ride goes down in the grace period, I won’t get an anytime pass, but I can also cancel and rebook the attraction so it isn’t completely lost.

Wait, is the 119 the entire window or is the added expiration window? If I have a 2-3pm window, does it (unofficially) expire at 3:59 or 4:59?

Added to the end of the original window. For a 2-3 window, that’s 4:59. Just a minute shy of two hours after the end.

Ok thank you! I am trying to work out DHS and I think I will need to rely on some expiration stacking. I don’t plan to be back in the park until 4pm. Will this work?

Not quite. You do not break the rules on tiers (and parks) until after you have actually tapped into a LL. Tier 1’s are SDD, MMRR, and RnR in your list. You cannot book that second one until either 4:00pm (when SDD expires) or you’ve tapped in to something. Likewise, that third tier 1 has to wait until either you’ve tapped in to something (to drop tier rules) or the second tier 1 expires.

I’m not sure why you have a ride booking at 9am, maybe it should be 10am? That’s a question in addition to the whole tier 1 vs tier 2 rules.

I plan to ride Alien Swirling Saucers right at 9am!

Ah! Great! That makes things a lot more possible.

But at 3:47pm, you still have 3 LL active - SDD, MMRR, and RnR. You can’t book another until 4:00pm - or you’ve tapped into SDD by 3:47pm.

Ok good catch. I will try and get SDD for 2:30 so it will be expired by 3:30.
