Thank you for this ongoing study.
I wonder about dessicants. Perhaps wait for paper towel conclusions first tho. Point being to use wicking material that is easily obtained. Which is paper towels more so than newspaper nowadays.

Epcot is excellent in the deep puddles category.
Yes, @ParkRanger should repeat the experiment using Epcot puddle water vs POTC “water” to see if the experiments results are repeatable. You’re paying, right?
This is an interesting side trip tho possibly less generally useful to the following readers.

My sister got a U for Unsatisfactory in the Play section of her kindergarten report card. My mother practically ran to the school to find out why. Mama was afraid Amy was beating up the other kids. “Oh, no,” said the teacher. “Amy … just … doesn’t play. She prefers to sit indoors and read a book.”
In kindergarten.

And, just as importantly, is Bounty the “quicker dryer-outer”?
Nope, none of your bougie paper towels in Phase II.
Capillary action at work!
Quickrete is a natural desiccant— …just sayin’.
Did you do the quiz?
I’m not liking the explanation of the lightning and ocean water.
And did you notice that Mickey Mouse has a part in the quiz?
Yes
Just in case you forgot to bring newspaper on your trip, the paper towels from the resort lobby bathrooms also work to dry out the shoes over night.
Newspaper vs. towel experiment coming up shortly!
The hotel lobby bathroom paper towels are basically the same material as newspaper
Thanks for sharing!
But without the icky ink.
Phase II preliminary results have been posted.
