We're going to Disneyland!

Long-time lurker, occasional poster over the years. We are a family of four planning a trip to Los Angeles for Spring Break with our two high school juniors. Yes, doing the college visits thing. But also….

We’re going to Disneyland! I’ve booked two nights at the Disneyland Hotel in late March. We’ll only have a day and a half there, but we’ll be ready to pack it in. Looks like our days are CL 7 and 6.

First time to DLR for us really. DW and I went when we were kids (not together - ha!), but so so long ago. As a family, we’ve taken three fabulous week-long WDW trips. Fabulous in no small part to Touring Plans and the TP forum.

Anyway, wanted to say hi! and share the excitement. I know the Disneyland forum isn’t the busiest forum, but this Liner now plans to monitor it reguarly, and I’m sure I’ll post a question or two along the way. Looking forward to it!

Woohoo! A Disney trip on the calendar is always very exciting. The DL forum isn’t the busiest, but there are plenty of liners around here that are VERRRYYY familiar with that park and are happy to answer questions (I was intimidated my first trip to that coast, but they all put me at ease answering my many questions). It ended up a great trip that I look very forward to repeating someday soon.

Which colleges will you be visiting?

Thank you!

TBD on the colleges. USC and UCLA likely (UCLA students on spring break unfortunately). Maybe work in Pepperdine, Pomona and Scripps. Honestly, the goal is just to get in some visits of different types of schools, while also checking out the So Cal vibe. We are east coasters, so no imminent plans to go to Calif for school, but good excuse to check them out.

Yay left mouse!

@lolabear_la , @Wahoohokie and @Jeff_AZ are three of the best Disneyland helpers there are here! I’ve been a couple of times, but I still get lost going to Space Mountain

The worst kept secret is how ridiculously easy it is to park hop

This is the view of DCA standing at the exit of Disneyland Park! Ain’t no bus, ain’t no driving around to another area 20 minutes away.

Soo exciting for a Disneyland trip! My daughter and I are there about twice a month as we live 2 hrs away. We just came back from being there Tuesday and Wednesday. It was pretty busy. One of the days was pin release day so tonsof people lining up for that. Message me if you’d like me to send you a couple park maps. Im always picking up extras! Will be following along. Can never get enough Disneyland  :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Yay for coming out to plan on the Best/West Coast!!

Happy to help answer a question or two (and many more) as you need them.

The best thing to know up front is that the flexibility of being able to zig when others zag, keeping plans fluid and using any TP you build as more of a checklist/wish list is key to enjoying planning out in the west coast. That, and also just know it’s highly likely you catch the charm/fall in love & plan for a repeat trip sometime in the next few years.
