Here is your tree @OBNurseNH!

Oops, wrong tree

We had a great safari, most all of the animals were out and about, and the lioness vocalized for quite a while.

Kali River Rapids to help cool off.

Hot and soupy, headed to hotel for a break.

Rope dropping a closed Remy

Ugh. Hope it opens soon!

It opened at 9 o’clock. This seems to be the way Disney does it now. The big rides are always “down” during early entry and suddenly start running again at park open. Very frustrating.

So you think they do that on purpose? Why would they do that?

Today was Epcot, aka hottest place on earth. We started with Remy, walked around the world doing the Remy hunt, rode Frozen, had lunch at Connections and finished the world on the way back to skyliner. The heat is exhausting.

We did find relief in Morocco with this cool little room that houses a display of women’s racing. Cool as in interesting and air conditioned lol. It even had seating!

Another such spot was at American Adventure where you can see George Bush’s paintings. It’s a rather impressive display.

Of course ROR was down during early entry so we rope dropped MMRR. The more I ride this the more I love it!

Can you see Mickey?

We walked right over to the first showing of Frozen sing-a-long.

We headed to TSM so dh could get a better score than mine.

Spur of the moment I booked a lunch res at Woody’s BBQ place. What fun! The theming, the little games, and the food were all awesome!

That frozen tea and those biscuits were the bomb! I wrapped one of those biscuits in a napkin and put it in my purse like a proper old lady.

Dh had cheesecake and I had the delicious silk pie for dessert. It was funny, because there was so much food dh kept worrying that dessert would be huge. To be fair they offered us seconds.

Just my opinion: I don’t think they open it on purpose. But every morning for every ride, they have to run opening procedures that take a certain minimum amount of time. If anything goes wrong, that minimum amount of time could balloon.

They probably start the opening procedures such that they would, on average, be ready to open the ride at its scheduled opening time. But certain rides (like Remy) probably have frequent issues at start-up that cause them to miss their targeted opening on a recurring basis. And Disney simply isn’t willing (likely due to budget concerns) to start the routines earlier to ensure the ride is online on schedule on a consistent basis. Hence the frequent delayed openings.

We had a weird start to the morning. We mobile ordered some breakfast, including milk, and ate in the food court. I took a swig of the milk, felt what I thought was ice and was about to tell dh because he loves very cold milk. It wasn’t ice. :worried: It was chunks of curdled milk. I had no where to spit it out and ran around until I found some napkins. :face_vomiting: I went to the staff and they acted like they couldn’t understand me, that the milk was bad. I’m yelling out BAD, CURDLED, GROSS, WRONG and they looked at me like, so what? Finally a manager came out, gave us some Smart waters and refunded the breakfast. Turns out the date on the milks was September 3rd! I sure hope they pulled the rest of those, but I bet not.
