Wednesday Breakfast - Hit Me With Your Best Shot

Leaving to come home on a Wednesday… would love a great getaway breakfast… what are your go tos?
Done Ale and Compass and had a pretty good experience, but what other hidden gems are out there, that will serve us a decent breakfast/brunch on a Wednesday?

Let me know your thoughts!!!

Both O’hana and Kona Cafe at Polynesian Resort have a very good breakfast.

Completely unfavorable to most here is our favorite last WDW breakfast spot at Beach Club - Cape May character buffet.

As of our most previous meal here - Oct '25 if memory serves - awesome bacon, which I get a plate of. Yeah, nobody gets their worth at a buffet but I bet I can make some inroads into $60 of bacon.

And I have the best time with characters. I like starting their day off with fun and bad puns.

A seriously good and oft overlooked because it’s QS breakfast is Primo Piatto. That breakfast platter is wonderful. They bring it to your table and it’s real cutlery, not plastic. The setting is really pretty and relatively quiet. And the cast is wonderful. Plus it’s affordable!

Similar to Primo Piatto - Sanaa has a more upscale quick service breakfast in their really nice dining room.

Either of these would require being allowed into the resort area without a reservation, though (I don’t remember where you’re staying ).

ETA: did research and you are at CBR? Then Primo Piatto would be much easier.

Olivia’s was a really pleasant surprise - fried chicken was great! Also had Kona Cafe to go and really liked the macadamia nut pancakes.

I have not had breakfast at Steakhouse 71 or Whispering Canyon - mentioning because they might be along similar lines to Ale and Compass? Grand Floridian Cafe as well (I read they tend to be slow?). Do you have favorite breakfast items, like benedicts or waffles or…?

If you want characters, I really liked Topolino’s (it’s not that much more expensive than other character brunches, I think?).

My favorite breakfast spot so far is Trattoria on the Boardwalk. Grand Flo Cafe looks really good but won’t try there until next week. We have done SH71. It’s good but I like the vibe at Trattoria better. Whispering Canyon Cafe is fun too. Their breakfast skillets are decent. Make sure to ask for ketchup. I’ve giving Olivia’s a try this trip too. I also like the breakfast at Rainforest Cafe at AK entrance. Their lunch and dinner is basic chain restaurant food but I found their breakfast better quality. And I love the Rainforest!

Olivia’s.
I’ve done it twice now on our last day.
I love the atmosphere and the food.

Yes. That’s a great “QS” option.
We had to park at AK and take the bus. But I’d do it again for the banana bread French toast and views of the giraffes.

You and Ryan are the reason I’ve booked it for our trip! Y’all both have good taste so I trust y’all’s review.

I love the breakfast their. So good. I also like Steakhouse 71 for breakfast. The red velvet pancakes last February were so good. I also like Walt’s hash.

One of family’s favorites, Grand Floridian Cafe for brunch.

Another vote for Olivia’s!

I also love Boma.

Both places are chill and not hectic.

THese are all great. I had forgotton about Olivia’s. We did this when we stayed at OKW and really enjoyed it. Haven’t been to Trattoria since it was a character deal back in 2018, so thats a possibility too (skyliner being a bonus for DW).

Never tried Prima Piatto, but that would certainly be convenient….

THought about Cape May or Topolino’s, but would have to really hunt for the character breakfast because they are all sold out….

You guys are the best….

I’m going to keep Prima, Olivia’s, and Cape May as the top 3… with Trattoria as a possibility…

I second this option. I love the macadamia pancakes and the POG. Cheaper and less crowded than Ohana.

Even if you do not get a reservation (and they are easy), you can walk up and the wait isn’t bad unless it’s peak hours.

Agreed on Kona Cafe over Ohana for breakfast. On more than one occasion we’ve asked the staff at Kona Cafe if they served a particular item that they do at Ohana, they told us they did not but, if we wanted it, they would bring it over from Ohana for us anyway.

Looks open for 2. Didn’t check for 8. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

If you’d rather be cool, Topolinos will need to be stalked. No breakfast available.
