WDW Christmas

Just dropping this here

oh-my-gosh

I did it! I bought tickets to MVMCP.
I need to pick up a shift at work to feel less guilty. :stuck_out_tongue:
And I will cancel Topolino’s.

My rationale? Who knows when we will be there again in Christmas season. There will always be character breakfasts.

Psych me up, Friends. I’m queasy!

Queasy from excitement, or queasy from the realization sinking in about how much this cost you?

ETA: Or both?

The money. It’s a lot of money for one event.
But DH has never been. Girls and I did once in 2019 (they were 6 and 9) and it’s not like going at Cmas is our norm…

I’m trying to be okay with it. I loved it last time.
I’d planned to go until I saw the price tag a few weeks ago.

Well, that’s your first mistake. Close your eyes next time!

Yes. It is a lot of money. And, honestly, when we went a couple years ago it was similarly expensive. I was nervous we wouldn’t end up having as good of time as all the hype about it, and it would feel like a waste. But honestly, once we were there, the cost kind of flew out the window. It was just a fun and in a weird busy sort of way, relaxing. Hanging out in Frontierland singing ā€œSweet Carolineā€ with the song leader guys (forget who they were) but swapping ā€œHo Ho Hoā€ in while waiting for the parade is now an indelible memory. Meandering up to the giant candy cane for (seemingly) free hot chocolate or egg nog and cookies…just fun.

So, yeah, we had a blast, and expect we will this time as well. I prefer not to go, ā€œHmm…this is fun, but is it $180 fun?ā€ Once the payment is made, it is just about enjoying the moment!!

(Does that calm the queasiness at all?)

It does help. Thank you for reminding me how much fun it was. We loved the parade and finding treats and Speedway overlay.

Last time I went it was a party of 7, and some were very small. It will be even easier with older kids. It hadn’t dawned on me til this moment my older girls were (about) these girls ages on that trip.

In case anyone wonders, I bought the tickets at 2:45PM on Thursday and I got the emailed tickets at 5:47PM. I just linked them easily enough.

A few meals of overpriced, average tasting food vs MVMCP (or Jollywood) … would be a no brainer for me.

Yeah. I’d only booked Topolino’s as a (pretty decent) runner up to losing MVMCP. It will be there another time.
I’m feeling better about it since this evening when I mentioned to the girls that I’d booked it Katriel gave a joyful gasp, ā€œReally?!ā€

This is a solid line up!

And I know Maggie will go see Sheryl Lee Ralph with me.

I employ this tactic too much and at inappropriate times too :smirk:

Hey - at great risk of asking a dumb question…. When the Candlelight processional dining packages open for reservations on Oct 14, they are only working 60 days out as per usual, correct? Like if we are attending one of the last parties in Dec. we would need to make the dining package reservation when we log on at our 60 day mark which is a little over a week after these reservations launch.

Yes, correct.
