As much as I would love to just go sans makeup for our August trip… it’s a bit of a security blanket for me hahaha. I don’t wear a ton of it. But my face can get quite red and blotchy so I just feel more like I can actually be in photos with my kids if I have some foundation and mascara on. Even if I’m still a gross sweaty mess. It’s a mental thing I think!
Anywho anyone have tips or tricks for makeup they wanna share? I have oily skin and usually wear MAC with the built in sunscreen but it’s been not great in the humidity so I’m maybe going to hit up a Sephora or something and see what other products might work.
But curious if anyone out there has found something that works for them!
My skin is the opposite of yours so product recs won’t help! Definitely hit up Ulta or Sephora, ask for help choosing products and especially a good primer and setting spray. Ulta really helped me when I needed products to deal with the humidity in Taiwan and Japan in June.
I have problems with redness too and really like Smashbox anti-redness face primer. It’s pricey though. Ulta makes a less expensive but I think still good anti-redness primer.
I’m Irish American with very fair skin that gets red and blotchy with any heat or exertion… so permanently at WDW (and I completely agree with makeup being a security blanket for the photos!). I really like Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint with SPF40. I use the Rendezvous color (extra light with cool undertones). It’s very lightweight but helps a lot with evenness.
I’ve been using Perbelle CC cream for about a year now. I love it. I only dab a little on where it’s needed and it covers wonderfully without feeling like it’s suffocating my face
I carry Clinique Stay-Matte pressed powder with me and when I need to, I blot the oil with a tissue and apply the powder. (I buy it at Macy’s when there is a Clinique promotion with a discount.)
Last year I tried a European sunscreen (Avene) and was amazed by how well it stays put. It feels completely different and makes a nice base for make up. Usually I can feel the sunscreen in my eyes as soon as I spend anytime in the Florida hunidity. The Avene I use is slightly tinted to help not make your face white, and that helps keep my red down a bit.
Now that the FDA has approved the ingredients in these sunscreens - La Rouche is also very popular, I am hoping they will be more available.
I’ve been using those sheets for decades at this point, and I have yet to find anything better. Target has a store brand version that seems to be the exact same product, they’re the same texture and baby blue color.
I typically don’t wear makeup at Disney World because I’m on vacation. I’ve experimented at home a bit with ONE/SIZE Secure the Sweat Primer and it seems to work great. I have not given it a spin at Disney World, so I would try it at home first.
I also love ONE/SIZE On Til Dawn setting spray. They even have one with sunscreen and another with glitter. It’s what Beyonce uses and what she famously used when she was performing in the rain.
